Has anyone attempted to make their own hard doors?

I see your point. I'll do one and see how it comes out. I have the wood and a brand new roll of glass so it will only cost me my time. If it turns out to be more of a PITA then I'll scrap the idea and just save up for some true X doors. The labor doesn't bother me one bit. I love...

Has anyone attempted to make their own hard doors?

Well I was thinking of making molds so that I can later make more and sell them but because I'm short on time I decided to make 1 off pieces. So I'm gonna start by making the doors from wood and then once I have the shape I want I'll seal it with fiberglass. I think this will make the door...

Has anyone attempted to make their own hard doors?

Good morning fellow HMMWV owners, So I've had my Humvee for nearly 6 months now and I have already begun doing many upgrades. One of the first upgrades that I started doing was converting the soft top over to a hardtop. My only problem was the hardtop conversions are way too expensive. So I...

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

Thanks for the info man. Very useful info. Would you by any chance have any part# for the parts needed? I found a 700R4 adaptor but it comes with a 31 spline shaft.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

Thanks guys for all your help. I'm definitely gonna move forward with the 700R4. I'll do a write up for anyone looking to do the same.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

The duramax/Allison swap won't be happening anytime in the near future and I need a 4 speed auto right now. I understand I'll have small misc cost here and there just like I would with swapping a 4L80E but the swap will still be a lot cheaper than a 4L80e swap.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

Ya I'll have to upgrade the output shaft. But will it physically bolt up to the transfer case? I have a 6.2 so it doesn't make that much power. I'm pretty sure with a HD rebuild it will be able to handle it with no problem. Another reason why I don't want to drop so much money on a 4L80E...

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

Hey guys, So I've been looking into installing a four-speed in my Humvee. And the swap that everyone is doing is though is the 4L80E. The only issue with this is that it needs a computer to work properly and the computer to control it is expensive. So I've been looking cheaper alternatives and...

SoCali members...who takes their HMMWV off-road?

Will do. I probably won't go out there myself. I would hate to break down in the middle of nowhere.

    Hydro-boost / hose o-ring help

I recommend changing the hose. I had the exact same problem as you and did the same procedures as you. In the end my brother noticed a small hair crack on the fitting. Couldn't really see it. So I just had another hose custom made. Get a new hose.

SoCali members...who takes their HMMWV off-road?

Are there any SoCal members that have taken their HMMWV on some trails? My HMMWV should be done soon and I sure wouldn't mind getting together with other HMMWV owners and conquer some trails.

    HMMWV Rock Sliders/ Rocker protection

Those rocker/floor protectors for the H1 are expensive. They're well over $3000 once shipped to you. over

    HMMWV Rock Sliders/ Rocker protection

I've been thinking about fabbing up my own rocker/floor protectors. I was thinking about using 3/16" for the floors and 1/4" for the rockers. Just need to put some money aside for the materials. Has as anyone on here fabbed their own?

Opinions on removing the reinforcement behinds seats

Well I wasn't planning on not adding reinforcement back into it once I remove the beam. I was thinking of adding a roll cage for added strength, especially in rollovers. I was also thinking about adding a skid plate/rocker panel protectors. I suppose I'll leave it in there for now. Until I get...

Opinions on removing the reinforcement behinds seats

Yes, those are the ones I'm referring to. Can they just be cut out? I was thinking about later adding a roll cage anyway. So that should stiffen things back up. Any thoughts?

Opinions on removing the reinforcement behinds seats

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Opinions on removing the reinforcement behinds seats

Hey guys, I was thinking about removing the cross reinforcement that goes behind the front seats. It goes from one side of the truck to the other side. I wanted to remove it to give more room for rear leg room. I see the H1s don't have it. Does anyone know if it can be removed with no...

Alternator went bad. Thinking of switching to 12v???

I don't mind a little fan work. Does this alternator come in 100amps? I would like to put in at least 100amps, if possible.

Alternator went bad. Thinking of switching to 12v???

Ok that's what I wanted to know. I wanted to know if everything else needed to be upgraded. So that would make it more expensive. Guess I'll be keeping the 24V.
