33's no lift, no trim, no rub.
35's no lift, little bit of trim front and back, no rub
37's no lift, fair amount of trim and they rub at the top at full stuff in the front.

I bought a 1028, sold it to a buddy who eventually changed the fluids, put on some 37's and a winch and hasnt done anything else. Runs like a top and he daily drives it too when not wheeling it.

Im sure the SAE or safety natzi's might argue here, but i would have no problem mounting them in the bed. the only time they are going to gas is under heavy load, and even then its not like we are talking about a large volume.
Just make sure to use high quality cable, fatter the better.

Easiest way is to find a late engine with the serp system and do a motor swap.

If the surge you are feeling is a power boost you have an air leak.
If the surge is a lack of power you have a clogged filter or kinked line.
Air leaks in order of likelihood
filter housing
lift pump
lines at the filter housing
jumper lines...
Those above part numbers are for the OEM 2 filter setup on a early civvy 6.2. 33123 and 33124.
The ones i change over to are 33005 for the 10 micron water separator and a 33674 for the 2 micron final.
Base is a 24770, you'll need 2 of them obviously.
