I still need to do the "I just bought it and I don't know the service history" service.
That make come as more of a trickle than a flood as I only drive the truck very little.
That sounded a bit off to me too.
I didn't do anything to my deuces other than put them to work.
Tried pulling a stump with one. The 6x6 worked nicely. The wimpy chain I tried did not.
Used the other to transport a whole tree worth of firewood to my parent's place. My father helped me...
I may be selling the box off my 109 (sacrilege, I know). That wrecker sure makes it look easy.
Does it actually weight in at 5k lbs empty, or is that the weight of it with whatever used to be inside?
Digging up this old thread after falling down a rabbit hole, to ask a question.
1 of the 2 deuces I just picked up has a very loud whine in 4th & 5th gear (road speed above about 35mph). It sounds like it could be a BIG gear whining either in the transmission or maybe an axle.
Does anyone...
I noticed both of my trucks got a little bouncy/jerky when going up steep hills in 3rd gear, 2000 RPM (tach straight up and down).
Granted the guy I bought them from was bragging about how he had done zero maintenance in the 8+ years he owned them.
i'll be changing a lot of fluids and filters...
That's where my intuition lead me. Just thought I would ask the community.
Unfortunately that means swapping the ether shot to the chassis that I hope to keep.
Which is better?
I have one truck with the ether shot, and one truck with the fuel fired intake heater. I would like to adopt whichever is the "best" on whichever truck I end up keeping.
By "best" I mean most effective with least maintenance.
Black beauty is where its at. I'd still wear a hood and at least a good particulate mask.
If you put big tarps down, you can recycle the blast media, as long as you can keep it dry.
There is a connection on the air compressor intake for a snorkel. I believe its 1"NPT.
Also, the original fording kit adds a valve to pressurize the flywheel housing with air to prevent water from getting to the clutch and the main seals.
I don't know the particulars beyond that.
Brought mine home last night!!
Today I took the headlight switch out to see if there was any chance of rebuilding it. Looks like it potted together.
I removed the tailgate from the bed because there some significant damage back there. After I straighten the tailgate I need to do some heavy...
Thank you! I will definitely be posting some questions.
Both trucks have some minor electrical issues.
The one I drove home has a pretty gnarly whine in the drivetrain in 4th and 5th that I didn't hear in the other.
The other has a small fuel leak at one of the outputs of the IP. Hoping...
Hello all!
My wife and I just bought a pair of M35A2D's. One of them is actually an M109A? shop truck.
We are very excited to get the few things that need fixing fixed. We brought home one of them tonight and are picking up the other tomorrow.
Only one of the 2 are titled, which is why the...
