The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

Yeah, I agree . . . it would have been cool with the contact maintenance box on it, but I think I'll get a lot more use out of it with the bed.

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

Putting the new steering box in was a PAIN . . . I had to put it in and pull it out 3 times. I hoped to get everything wrapped up today but I just didn't have enough time. Did get the springs and the axle in though . . .

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

Sorry, I'm not exactly sure what you're asking but I'll give it a shot . . . I assume you're referring to the front 60. I had a "spare" 60 that I had completely rebuilt, including adding a Lockright and 35-spline outer shafts. It does have dually hubs on it and that's what will be going in...

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

I got the ORD weld-in frame repair kit installed today. I had to trim the front in order to clear the bumper support bracket. After that a little weld-thru primer and then I burned it all in. I put the extended brake lines on as well. Tomorrow I'll install the new steering box and hopefully get...

Got the front upper shackle hangers done tonight . . . and they were as big a pain as I thought they would be! Got the steering box out too . . .

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

I'm finally gonna have some time this weekend to get back on the truck. I got the front end out this afternoon . . .

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

I had a little time this weekend, but not enough to start tearing the front end down. I did go ahead and remove the front driveshaft, shocks and sway bar though just to get that out of the way. I also did the Doghead starter relay mod.

    M1008 upgrade

I'm halfway through a 5" lift and 37's project so this makes me want to get it done! I really like the stance of the truck and the look of the 12-bolts.

    so many starters

I bought starter from AutoZone a few years ago that was junk. I ended up finding an American remanufactured starter from a local mom & pop auto parts store a couple of years ago and so far it's still working great. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the company though.

Best source for D60 front bearings/seals

I bought mine in a kit from Randy's Ring and Pinion. On short notice I go to AutoZone as they sell Timken.

The brand new pinion seal is leaking . . . that sucks!

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

Got all the brake lines bent up and everything plumbed and bled. I welded on the tailpipes to keep the exhaust off the brake line and axle vent. I'll probably redo it later but for now it will work. I'm calling the rear "done" and moving on to the front.

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

Ever since I removed the box I've been curious about this piece of plugged tubing coming off the fuel tank (see arrow). I noticed a wet spot under it this weekend so I removed it and diesel came pouring out . . . I'm not even sure how that's possible since it comes off the top of the tank? I...

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

Did a little more work on the rear this weekend: made a removable "crossmember" for the upper shock mount . . . probably a little overkill but what the heck. I cut the exhaust off just after the muffler to make way for the brake lines so I had to fab up a mount for the passenger side muffler. I...

Yes, an 1 1/2". I just didn't think that would be enough to affect the shock angle that much but I guess it does . . .
