I think I need a real mechanic......not a tinkerer like me!! The self locking nut did not back off......something else made the rod too short... Now I have that nut tightened almost all the way down to stop/minimize the loud tapping..... something is wrong down inside from the side plate.....

I did this and it worked!! However, it still doesn't run on that cylinder, even though the lifter is now moving. A local mechanic said the valve has "collapsed"........ But maybe it's just "stuck".... I think I'll just drive it some...had a semi-nice ride this afternoon....not too bad with...

Popup..... Is the adjuster the nut that looks to be a half inch ?...... and is it locked somehow? Also what do you mean by "lift the valve train" ? Now that I think about it......if you came down and showed me how just one time, next time I'd know !! Your best friend in the whole wide world ...

How does the registration look.....how many numbers, letters, dashes, etc....? ......BTW, I found the Vin # and sent it to Carmac.....hopefully he'll tell me what year it is....
