I am not sure if I read the instructions for the cooler or if it was not included but it seems I would be able to change the fan from pull to push by flipping the blade and switching the polarity of the wires to it if this might be more efficient (seems easy enough) but I would hate to get out...
You are totally correct.... brain is on autopilot and used to my other truck. Anyhow, I looked and I have about a 1" air gap between the back of the trans cooler and the radiator. I just took a minute and realized that I made an assumption that the fan was pushing through the cooler in the same...
Yep, installed since day 1. I think a good size fan cooler underneath will be the ticket. I know they make em bigger and "thicker" than the one I have if space for a second is not available and I need to expand on the first.
Just got back from a 5 day trip out in the sierras that included a bit of 4wd use to get out to some of the better camp spots. My first post I will focus on the 700r4 from BO and OD lockup switch.
The switch is in, ground wire at switch feeds a relay that sends a dedicated 12v run to the manual...
Thank you! I stoped by a home depot and pulled it out, fun times in the sweltering heat dodging the hot exhaust to pull the switch out and go in. Alas they did not have it... got by with jamming a plug in the broken off sensor and using some ultra black on both sides. It was still leaking a...
I have never seen a leak until I tried to repair my switch that stopped working (I know it is not a serviceable part but I attempted anyways, cut the crimp and the contacts were way too far gone inside. I just silicone a flat washer on top of the whole so no doubt there's probably a little bit...
I am on the road about a hundred miles from home and headed out to the hills for a camping trip. My four-wheel drive indicator switch on top of my np208 is dripping pretty good.... Long story but the switch died and I tried to fix it and I thought the sealant would hold while I wait for a...
thats a lot of work, looks like it is getting closer though, I am going to take my rig out for a trip... with the hot air and high altitude I am preparing myself for some slllllow climbs, cant wait to someday turbo mine :) watching how this goes pretty closely, thank you for the pics. do you...
So it is just about done with the interior facelift... remaining is to wire the relay for feeding the TC lockup.
Here are some pics of the mount for the overheat dummy light. Many of the bimetal switches I was looking had had he difference between trip and reset temps too out of whack (ie on at...
I cant recall exactly how my 6.5t injector removal goes but I think I am able to get at em (I have average/small hands) with the aid of not only I think a modified socket but the fact it has a hex shape at the back of it in addition to being 3/8 drive. It is even 19mm, the same as the line ends...
digital volt meter.
since your gauge goes to e when given ground and full when "open" it appears to work but I guess it could be out of whack still. Take a meter and measure what you are getting from the sending unit now when full. if ~ 90 ohms adn it is making good connection to the wire but...
check with a DVM to see if your tank and frame are grounded together... tank is probably getting ground through strap or whatever and is redundant in addition to ground wire. Sounds like sending unit for sure shout though.
on my work truck I have been running some of the braided stuff from badger diesel and it has been on there for about 6 years and while I think I may have had one or two that I trimmed back and reused they are doing pretty good. I am in Ca away from the coast so maybe the more cold/wet/salty road...
snapped a couple speaker pics while I had my dash off today for you... and no, they do not interfere with the dash at this height, but then again I have a dash skin and cut the oem grille (underneath the skin) out so the installer MAY need to mount them from below rather than from above.
More progress! I will have it back together finally within one more good chunk of work. The seat covers are done, stitched up all the seams, grommets installed, a little adhesive at the ends of stitches to keep em from unraveling any time soon. spent a few minutes removing some of the crayon and...
try swapping an injector with a different one to get the port clocked better. I hear you on projects that take over your life! :D What is the age/wear on the motor? I would love to do this to my 6.2 but it will probably get a 6.5td someday down the road. I will have the turbo setup available...
ahhh, mine did that unless I floored it (the switch only comes into play when pedal is floored, easy to crawl under the dash and check switch operation. ) Sounds like maybe time to do an adjustment of the vrv?
I used the LMC multi-purpose roll, the tape (I thought it would be hvac tape but it was thinner and worked well, not sure if any better than hvac tape though) Also used the spray adhesive. One can was perfect. Two rolls of insulation (1.5 reqd), one roll of tape (30')
About the insulation, I...
