So I have done alot of reading on the subject of the glowplug switch here and I think I know what I'm doing (always a dangerous proposition) but I like to make sure. So for those of you that have wired in a button or switch - I cut the blue wire going from the relay (is this the same blue wire...
Sure. With the ignition on, the top post on my glow plug relay reads 24v. The 2 smaller posts between the top and the bottom posts each read 12v. The bottom (same size as the top) reads 0. Is this normal?
I just got my fuel issue figured and wouldnt you know it, I ran into a glow plug problem. This is whats happening: My relay used to click and now it doesnt. I checked the voltage at the top post and it reads 24v. I checked the coltage at the two small posts and they both read 12v. The bottom...
Well it tested bad so I had it rebuilt. I was getting voltage to the starter and solenoid but the starter wasnt doing anything so it definatly needed to be rebuilt. Now it turns over like a champ! However my glowplug system died. Always something.

So what have you guys done about the bent driveshafts? Can they be repaired? mine doesnt appear to be too bad but does create quite the vibration around 30+. Where are you getting replacements?
Andy
From what I have read about this is the fuel filter housing and/or fuel lines can leak air into them and not leak out due the small vaccuum created by the return system. This can lead to empty fuel lines and no fuel for the moring start-up. Might be a good place to start. And as you said the...
You are right about the liability. It was not an ideal situation. I would not recommend using the uhaul trailer to haul a fullsize vehicle and I may have told them that I was towing something else... However I can tell you from experience that it does fit, it does work, and will balance the...
I used the Uhaul Autotransport trailer to bring my truck (1008) home from NJ to CT about 230 miles or so and it worked fine. Cost me 54 bucks for the day. Just make sure your tow vehicle is up to the task!
I second the body lift. I also had trouble with uhaul and getting a trailer. I ended up telling them I was going to get a Toyota Corolla! Turns out my 1008 fit fine and made the 400 mile trip without a glitch.
Well I was all pumped up becuase I just got my truck running and I was looking forward to a nice drive this morning but when I went out to start it, it cranked for about 10 seconds and wouldnt start. No fuel again. Anyway I let the starter cool for a minute and tried it again and nothing. I...
Got it started! I must have had an inop cutoff solenoid in the injector pump. I took the cover off and it looked clean but I cleaned it all up and freed up everything, put it back together and it fired right away. Runs beautifully. Thanks to everyone who offered advice!

Ive done it before too and the one thing I would recommend is re gearing the diffs if you go to a 4sp. The gears are vry short with 4.56 rear gears. You may like that but I did not. As for resale value, if it was done correctly and professionally, I bet it would help - people never know what...
So the cutoff solenoid is what the pink wire attaches to? If its not working, no fuel to the injectors. How about the cold advance solenoid? If its inop will the truck start?
I am taking the cover off of my injector pump today and am hoping to find major blockage. My question is what do the shutoff solenoid and cold advance solenoid do in the injector pump do? Along with trying to get my truck running, I am also trying to educate myself here so I can help people...
