What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Faster if you tack down the zipper with pins and silicone. Fish hook proof gloves from Dick’s sporting goods or your favorite angling shoppe are a necessity.

    12k shock mod (Softer Ride)

Easily one of the best and most exciting reads I’ve seen. Freakin’ amazing pictures and write up! Can’t say enough positive words. This should be a sticky in the hot rods and modifications section.

    2000 HMMWV M1123 Project

Yeah, a well respected member on this forum once gave these instructions and lo and behold he was and is correct. I’m just quoting.

    2000 HMMWV M1123 Project

Leaks on valve covers are typically because they are either bent or you did not apply the sealant properly. Specifically, you need to wipe the heads clean and then apply the sealant to the valve head and not to the valve cover.

    GovPlanet HMMWV without serial number

Juanprado is correct. Always see what you got prior to forking out cash. Drain the oil and look for water. Add marvel mystery BUT REMOVE the glowplugs BEFORE trying to turn over so you don’t hydrolock. If you don’t open the glowplugs or remove the injectors and you pour in liquid or you have...

    Smart box

Not meant to derail BUT that is the highest compliment I could possibly receive. This is why I post about these schematics every time someone mentions purchasing a PCB or an EESS or an aftermarket pushbutton unit. :derailed:

    The FFS thread…

FFS!!! Loosened axle after pulled out last offending bolt, undercarriage protection in the way. I cut some lateral steel plate, hoping that would be enough. Nope! Ladder bar is several millimeters too wide. Gotta drop the f’ing ladder bar. I’ll try jacking up the vehicle to drop the axle...

Are there any choices for changing n/a manifold? Or just AMG

I want to do some custom work. Are there any aftermarket or AMG manifolds that are available that are more easily modified? Will any other type of engine manifold fit the n/a 6.2/6.5 n/an engine?

    Smart box

Read my signature line for discussion on PCB/EESS “glow plug box” rebuild. Feel free to ask questions. I’ve helped many fix their rigs.

Looking for a 4 Man Hard Top without the Turret Hole

Guys, you can spend $1600 for a solid steel top OR just custom cut a 42” diameter 18 gauge sheet steel piece to cover the turret hole and butt weld and hammer and dolly flat. Less than $50. HummerH1 made his whole hard top from scratch for less than $260. Aluminum is even easier. Just get a...

    The FFS thread…

Yes mog. That’s what the original owner did. I’m now going back to replace with proper parts with the help of RWH.

Using 4l80 in Humvee with LS?

Some of the original H1 were built with Chevy engines. They are called gassers. Many people throw in Chevy engines. Discussed here and that other forum.

Using 4l80 in Humvee with LS?

Perhaps I posted the incorrect thread…. Plenty of people go gasser.

Using 4l80 in Humvee with LS?

There is a guy doing this swap on the H1/HMMWV forum on: https://hummernetworkforums.com/ https://hummernetworkforums.com/threads/project-hercules-lt-engine-swap-with-8-speed.247965/

Using 4l80 in Humvee with LS?

Your HMMWV torque converter will probably have the wrong stall speed.
