    M998 TRANSMISSION

Requires a minimum of new torque converter, new flywheel, new driveshafts, new 4L80e tranny, new shifter with new shifter shifter rod mechanism, new tranny crossmember support, new aftermarket custom programmed computer control for tranny, miscellaneous wiring. I did a 700R4 swap on my old...

    M998 TRANSMISSION

The military unit is exactly the TH400 unit BUT it is missing the transmission park lock. You can add it to your transmission should you choose.

    M998 TRANSMISSION

There are free technical manuals TM’s on this forum brother. Take a few to download them. There starts your road to salvation on all things HMMWV. Members are always happy to answer questions, but this also gives you tools to read. Confusing at first. Hang in there. Welcome...

Best Way to Power 12V Ham Radio Box

I like the idea of a sine wave 24-12Volt power inverter to isolate you and protect you from the potentially harsh HMMWV electric climate. CamO is most qualified to ask about this.

Just purchased a M1123 on Gov Planet - Reno NV area

I’ve been told the deep water fording kit can be a liability if you forget and leave things pressured up. I’m told you blow seals. IIRC, it was RWH who told me BUT im hoping I’m not misquoting.

    The FFS thread…

Bolt is out. New FFS issue. Differential armor plate is so wide it prevents axle from dropping. The plate is attached to standard ladder protection. The plate is bent up from PO prior expeditions. I don’t like this plate. Anything that prevents quick trail repairs is bad. My plasma cutter...

    Soft Top Vs Hard Top

Last seen May 1, 2019. IIRC, he got pissed off after people were critical about some work he had done to his rig. Unlikely you will receive a response.

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

That’s exactly the way to do it brother.

Fuel System Troubleshooting and final resolution (IT WAS THE SOCK)

Hummer H1 uses an aftermarket fuel filter assembly on his expedition off road rig. Eric only has about 300,000 miles on it. After-all, it’s just a filter. You need to also check the usual culprits. Fuel lift pump, fuel line directional valves, clogged sock, water in fuel.

Seems like you’re now up to speed. 👍👍👍

    The FFS thread…

Starting the FFS thread. Thread of the unexpected, the unwelcome, the less than enjoyable. Feel free to join in one and all. Todays slice of Heaven… Simple job gone bad. In my case, rear axle removal gone sideways on my 1995 Hummer. I need to remove and replace my rear axles with the correct...

    1151 armored rear wall

Have you held 1/4”? It is stout. IMHO, go to a wholesale place and actually put your hands in this stuff. I was skeptical at first. Then I listened to Hummer H1 and Eric was correct. 1/4” Aluminum is solid stuff. IMHO and advice given with respect. A $100-$300 Harbor Freight or Ama$on...

    1151 armored rear wall

FYI: The price of my home made 1/4” thick aluminum sheet half doors was comparable with plywood.

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

When you turn on your vehicle, if the glow plug wait light comes on but never goes off, that is abnormal

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

I am getting confused by the terminology that you are using. With a standard EESS/PCB, when you turn on your vehicle and there is automatically power to the glow plugs, that is normal. If it never turns off that power, that is abnormal.

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

The function of the added second solenoid is to close when you press a button in order to power the glow plugs. If you are currently powering the glow plugs at all times when your vehicle is on, that is why they burnt out.

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

Super happy you have used my schematics AND super happy you are doing this DIY. That is what that thread was intended for. Thanks for joining the growing number of DIY box makers!!! Better than spending buku bucks!!! I always prefer when people DIY instead of ask me how to purchase.

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

Relay for glow plugs needs to be bulletproof. If it gets stuck open you are farked. That means the relay should be 24v, with 200 amp or more. Relay should be “continuous duty”.

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

STRIP THE BOARD!!! As someone who has performed uncounted number of rebuilds for personal use and sale, that board needs to go to make room for the second solenoid. That circuit board is about as useful as tits on a fish.
