I commented on putting electric fans on the 250 in another thread but didnt get any responses, is there a fan that will pull the needed CFM's? I would think this would be a good upgrade, and even if 60hp is a high number if you could get half of that back you would be in great shape, I plan on...
this is a cool idea, plus you could put plugs on the ends of your cables like on a removable winch, you have less chance of your batteries going bad from sitting too long also
Sounds like 2 batteries will work as long as they are good big truck batteries, I would rather have the extra power of the 4 but if 2 industrial batteries will work then I might go that route, anyone use AGM? I have one in my crawler and I love it (o'reilly battery)
carbonraptor, your rig is sweet as well! I love the super singles, when are you heading up to get yours? Are you towing or driving? I will be in the wa area about the same time, cant wait to get her home and all freshened up!
this is an awesome idea, wish I had the extra money for a 400, I would slap that bad boy right into my 925, I would say build the tranny while youre at it, worth the insurance imo
I like the air horn idea, but I really like the train horn valve, controlling the air like that is a good idea, I might reconsider this mod for my truck
how did you make an appointment for pickup? I am getting ready for the same thing and I have not done this before, thanks for any info, and good luck with your recovery! only 125 miles? man that will be a sweet trip, I am about 550 miles from JBLM but I am looking forward to the trip
with 456 gears and those 37's on some hummer double beadlocks you will have pretty good highway speed, and a nice combination for offroad too! any plans for the diesel? turbo or swap it out for a gas motor?
awesome rig, I was looking at these also, very nice for a camper indeed, when are you heading to get it? I have a trip planned for JBLM in the near future as well, waiting on battle creek myself, keep us updated on the recovery and good luck
I have had good luck with lmc truck, not familiar with the others, but it looks like a cool project. are you going to upgrade to 1tons? looks like you got some 37's on there already too
Sweet looking truck! Glad all went well on the way home, I have experienced nothing but good things with SS, great crowd and I am happy to be apart of it. I hope that my recovery goes just as smooth. Good luck with your new purchase and keep us updated on progress.
That sir is a good looking truck, I would say 110 is high also, I agree with the above statements about the bulge, drop the pressure a bit and I think you will be fine. Some tires are older than others and have been sitting but if you know about the dates on the sidewall then you can discern...
thats a nice truck man, I like the dump, the stacks look good, but what about rain? do you park it inside or have covers for them? keep us updated on progress
is there any experience with electric fan conversions on the 5ton? is there an electric fan that would produce enough cfm? I havent researched it much, curious if anyone else had, sorry if this has been covered I searched and didnt see much
