I bobbed my deuce a couple months ago, been driving it frequently. I have noticed that it has quite a bit of bounce until I get it to a nice even speed. It seems like the rear axle has a lot of what i'd call roll. My question is: Do those who bob these trucks use the old stabilizer bar/...
I've been thinking about bidding on a truck or two that are in Maryland. If I end up owning one, possibly a 5 ton is there anyone who will transport or drive it to NH? I'm thinking the date for picup and delivery would be the end of October or beginning of November. Thank you, Joe
Anyone know the reason why my deuce will not be recognized by street lights? Sick of sitting at red lights until another car comes along. Any way to fix this problem? Thanks for your help.
Headboard progress
Here it is. It is heavier than I thought it would be so ended up spot welding it in (semi removable). I am still waiting for the 4 lights to mount. I will add chains, tie downs, and hooks as I need them. Cost in materials not including lights was approx. $275.00 and about...
Thinking of buying an M932 5 ton. Wondering if anyone here has a quote on shipping. I checked the mileage and it is approx. 50 mile trip. Truck supposingly runs and is driveable so it should drive on a trailer. Thank you, Joe
I decided I want to add off road lights to my deuce but I didnt want to mount them on my roof. Thought the best way was to build a headboard with light mounts built in. I didnt plan this out I am just building it on the fly.
I am using 1 1/2 X 2" steel tubing. It will be removable, I will be...
I was told the rims are 5 ton rims with adapters welded in. I got them with tires already mounted, never thought much about what they are just that they fit. I will be starting a headboars thread if you want to see the construction of that. Joe
This weekend painted cab, and cut down dropsides. Began building rack for behind cab. Going to add offroad lights on the rack. Oh and impressed many people when driving through town. Glad I found this site.
Cutting bed
Thanks guys, I took all the sides off and cut it down with a 7" angle grinder as suggested. It is just a flatbed right now but in a couple weeks I will have the sides shortened and ready to go back on.
Hi all, I am remounting my shortened bed back onto the bobbed deuce. There were 4 bolts (2) on each side in the front that had large springs to hold the bed down. What is the purpose of these? and do they need to go back on or can I just use 7/16 bolts? Thanks for all suggestions and advice.
oring
The rubber oring type gaskets that seal the filter encasement to the housing. I guess you could say the big gaskets. They are for the fuel filters that are side by side. Thanks for any help.
Some measurements
Hi Jake, i cut 42.5" off the frame. I am reusing the bumperettes and cutting down my dropside bed. You could keep the frame a little longer if you plan on keeping bumperettes off. I left the front axle in its stock location. (that may not work for you if you plan on using...
Thanks guys, took a look at the air filter and found out some nice made a new hOme for themselves. The air filter was surrounded by pink home insulation. Guess that stuff really restricts airflow. Anyway, I cleaned it out and decided to build a snorkel why I was at it. I'll post pics. Later...
So I just Obbed the deuce. I don't have the bed on yet but have been driving it for 2 days. Feels like the fuel is cutting out especially down hill. It feels the same when I'm almost ready to change gears. Not sure if this is because there isn't a real load on the engine or not. Each gear...
