    Cucv cab wiring harness question

The price is right I guess for what I am getting even if I do not use it right away. The previous owner has hacked up the wiring all over this truck. Plus I am finding out that these trucks already had plenty of problems to start with. Thanks

    Cucv cab wiring harness question

I have a 1986 M1009 and have found a 1985 M1008 cab wiring harness complete. Will it work in my M1009? I don't really need it yet, but as a new owner of this truck I am finding things like my fuse box has been hot at headlight fuse & some terminals are not great at plug points. Any input from...

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

Thanks for the input, I hope I am doing the right thing. I am going to pull the trigger on the 5 ton and give a try. I hope all the pros out-weigh the cons. If so the A3 will have to find a new home. Sad.:-(

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

I have hear the same electrical problems and high cost to repair. You look at the short service of these vehicles compared to the M-series trucks and its much shorter. I may have to stay with my slow deuce and like it. thank you

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

I would like to run 55-60 so I don't start a car convoy behind me. My A3 with 395's 50mph max @ 2700-2800 rpm on GPS. The turns like an oil tanker is classic, I work with a guy that drove them in the service and said yes you need lots of area to turn around. That is a factor here in my...

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

Another question to you guys that have these trucks. What is the tallest point on the truck with stock 14.00 tires? The exhaust stack or the tire hoist? My shop door if 12' and my lowest point in the shop is 10'6". From what I have researched and found out I think I am ok.

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

I know what your saying about the semi part. There is a 923 here in Des Moines on display and have stopped to look at it several times. Yes it is much larger in size than my A3 all the way around. My deuce is handy and can get around about anywhere, just not at highway speeds. The 5 ton will...

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

Thanks guys for all the input you have all made good points. I like the wife options too. She is slowly seeing all the benefits to having the a3 truck we have now. Ha Ha not really. I tell her these are much cheaper than a new Corvette or Camaro mid-life crisis vehicle and slower too. But...

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

The visibility and turning radius has been a thought of mine. I can drive my deuce about anywhere including small parking lots. It's no longer than a 1 ton dually pickup. The nose on the 923 is square and I am sure it does create hard to see areas. Thanks for the input.

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

The slow top end speed and twisting the RPM at 2700-2800 to try and get close to hwy speed concerns me. Everything works on my truck even CTIS other than the W/S washer pump quit. Hard to part with it and sell it, have had a blast with it.

M35a3 vs m923a2 need some opinions

I currently have a super nice M35a3 with 3800 miles and 575 hrs on it great paint and well maintained. Was a old Sparta truck when I got it the 1,942 miles on it. I have been looking to upgrade to a M923a2 only because of road speed reasons and bigger cab. I have done all I can do to my M35a3...

    M35a3 rim leaking

Sorry for the delay in getting back into this thread. I am running the bead locks from the old tires 14.5 xl's. I have 6 new wheel valves and some new plastic fittings and will be tackling this project as soon as I can get a warm shop. This spring/summer & fall was not bad, but this cold...

Avm hubs need stone shield fix

I installed a set of AVM hubs on my M35A3 and they work great, thanks C&C. The problem now is you cannot reinstall the stone shields to protect the CTIS system. Does anyone have any ideas or have already done something?

    Deuce Airpack Question

I think it could be ok, when I took the bolts out it had a lot of thread material on it, not good. I will try that I think to rethread or drill out. I don't need things loose under there especially when we are talking brakes. Heading to my 1st rally in 3 weeks got to make it safe.

    Deuce Airpack Question

While changing trans fluid on my M35a3 the rear hole for the what I call the skid plate for the air pack on passenger side is stripped out crap. After looking at things does any one see a problem with drilling all the way through it to put 1 size smaller bolt & lock washer all the way through...
