Well I drove it to the VA today and when I got home I decided to check the fluid and it was perfect on the dipstick, red in color and does not smell burnt at all, I got in and rev'd the engine in park and could hear the whinning noise now while parked. It probably was doing it before in park I...
Thanks guy's, I will most likely opt to have it serviced first, the fluid looks ok and does not smell burnt, after the noise started I checked the fluid level and for some reason it was way high maybe like a quart so I cracked open a cooler line and drained some out to get the level down and it...
sounds like flywheel bolts have come out. Happened to me and made a terrible noise, just pull that plate underneath and they may fall out into your hand. if so check the teeth and make sure they did not get broken by the bouncing bolts.
Hey guy's I know this may have been covered but cannot find what I having trouble with, my cucv recently started making a high pitch whine when you give it gas while driving and not sitting. I took to my local tranny shop and the owner did not think it was anything to worry about at the moment...
Just got a new chrome one from A-1 Auto Recyclers in Penrose Colorado without the lock cylinder. My CUCV was missing everthing so they also sent me a used one with a lock cylinder all for $70! including shipping, call Rich there at 719-372-6588
Well I just installed the Autozone Delco-Remy alternator on the drivers side and now have 14.7 volts out and 29.6 across both batteries which means I think that the passenger side is putting out 14.9 volts which I believe is a little high, I will drive tomorrow and see if the gen lights are...
The core is only $12.00 so I will keep and rebuild it as a spare for either side, I think that makes the most sense as I need to get this thing on the road by Sunday, I would keep driving as is but I do not want to swell my batteries. How can you tell if the drivers side is an isolated ground...
I most likely will rebuild the pass side if bad, my understanding is the autozone DL7157 is a good replacement for the drivers side as it is not a required isolated ground and is actually grounded to the engine even though both originals are isolated ground for stocking purposes, previous...
Alright fellars, my drivers side is putting out 15.1 volts after idle down so I think I will go ahead and replace, the Autozone P/N DL7157 which according to the threads is an adequate replacement at 78 amps, however according to Autozone the DL7157 is a 100 amp alternator and they say it will...
just seems strange that both gen lights start flashing after the glow plugs, relay were changed and I bypassed the resistor, I also pulled the card get a visual which was a pain in the butt, I think I may have pulled the firewall wiring thru plug loose when I did it, any chance a short or bad...
These flashing gen lights did not start till cold weather and my glow plug relay as well as 6 of my glow plugs were bad and she would not not start, the batteries were on it when I bought a couple weeks before all this and they look brand new, anyway I ran them down trying to get it started and...
Don't know that I have the patience or know how to rebuild one as I have never done it before, not sure there is a competent auto electric person around either, the last one I had had been converted to 12 volt by a bunch of monkey's and I had to redo the conversion the roscommon way and had a...
what should the voltage be out of each alternator? I have 30.0 out of passenger side and 15.1 out of drivers side running, these sound a bit high, bad voltage regulators?
