That is really interesting about Hagerty. I think they are the one place I didn't check with. I don't always keep my deuce in a locked garage though myself, but I just pulled it into my shop and closed the door for the photo op. I am planning a new building soon, so it will be locked up...

As long as you don't run so much WVO that it can congeal in the lines or tank overnight, I think you'll be fine.

Of the several different insurance companies I checked with, they required a picture of the vehicle in question, in the locked garage. That pretty much rules out a tarp shed, or open barn. As far as the year thing, they will most likely want you to provide something from the DMV to prove...

American Modern Collectors Insurance in Ohio covers my '85 A2 Deuce here in VA for $135 a year. Have to have a locked garage and prove it with a pic. No commercial truck insurance. There is a 3,000 mile limit at that rate, but you can buy more. If I drive near that, I will add to my policy.

The gasoline would concern me in anything other than a multi. They just aren't designed to use anything that volatile.

Mine can't complain about the sight of them parked, as they are too far away, but they can hear the A2 whistling as it pulls by their front porch on the way out.

As far as I understand, GL goes on what they are told. I don't buy it totally though, as I've seen trucks nowhere near what they are depicted as in the auction pics and description. If I can't look at it very carefully, I won't bother.

Sounds like the typical GL auction. Could be an M35, could be a VW, who knows? They don't. I'd be wary of it, because it may not even be what you end up winning if you bid on it.

On the auto hub issue, I have found that most auto hub problems were due to them being filthy or improperly lubed. Take them off and apart and clean them very thoroughly. When reassembling them, use only a very light grease like White-Lube. Do not use wheel bearing grease as it is too thick...

If you want quiet, buy that Ford, Dodge, Chevy and roll up the windows, turn on the A/C, crank up the 6 speaker sound system, set the cruise, adjust the 12 way power seat to your liking, and drive on down to the Starbucks. If you want a truck, leave the deuce exhaust alone and drive it.

Hammer, one thing that may make a difference is fuel quality/age. My truck was running on straight diesel when I got it, and it would sing. Now with a 50% WMO gasoline mix, it seems a bit quieter. Not much, but definitely a bit subdued. Of course, I may be getting used to it too!
