As I understand it, the glow plugs run off 12 volts you could run them on 24 but be very quick about it. People have hard wired them to 24 volts and then wonder why they fail and are swollen up upon removal.

Like Dave said, H to Hloc on the fly with either transfer case, no problem. Hloc to H on the fly might have some bind so be aware.

“Probably” bad gage, mine did the same thing. reached under the truck when the gage said 250 touched the pan and could have not been over 140-150.
