All 5-tons: Heavy Duty Torque Rod Ends

If you have a solid anchor point behind the truck, you could attach a snatch block to it and run the cable/strap/chain forward if necessary.

I still regret not being able to hang around longer, but I hope to be able to come by again sometime with some “contributions” of my own. Your ranch is absolutely gorgeous, and I greatly appreciate your hospitality & the helpfulness of your friends. I’m very hard-pressed to think of...

Extended range 118 gallon fuel tank install on a M923

Looks fantastic! Are you still using the driver's side tank as a spare, and transferring fuel to the passenger-side tank? Or have you put in a selector switch yet?

    Oil Leak

When I have to replace those oil lube lines, I replace everything for braided stainless hose with stainless swivel fittings....once is enough having to replace those darn things. But the advice above is the easiest to get you back on the road and not have to worry about breaking off the brass...

    Heating a seized engine. Ideas?

Get the can of Acetone from a hardware store, not the diluted nail polish remover stuff. Mix with ATF in a container, then pour this mix into the cylinders. And please be sure to report back here on the results, so we can see if it worked or not. Especially combined with the block heater; I'd...

Nevada - 5 ton's license plates pulled by DMV

LOL let's not count our proverbial chickens before they hatch... I've had very good luck with the NV DMV in a variety of different areas, just trying to pass along my experiences and what worked for me. The same cannot be said of others here, especially with the Ely DMV branch....

Nevada - 5 ton's license plates pulled by DMV

The East Sahara DMV is also a good option; the head VIN inspector there (Ken) is very MV-friendly. Nomadic had the best advice; don't mention anything about problems registering it, and if they ask why you're coming to Clark County to register it, just mention that you work in Vegas so you're...

PTO spring brake override vs. spring brake override on an M936a1

The “normal” spring brake over-ride is for if you are operating the truck and suffer a loss of air pressure, you can use this to keep the spring brakes from activating (from loss of air pressure) in order to get the truck off the highway to somewhere safe.

    Rolling Coal

Because some of us live in areas that require emissions testing of diesel-powered trucks/pickups (NV: in Reno/LV area, all diesel-powered vehicles under 14K-lb GVW). That means an extra $50 per year or more, in addition to already high registration fees, all due to someone upset over "rolling...

What on the **** is happening to our rights to drive our trucks?

Does anyone have a copy of the supposed letter that the Nevada DMV folks are using to justify their reluctance to register M939-series trucks for on-road use? I keep hearing second- and third-hand info (not including you Tim), but haven’t yet seen the actual letter or other correspondence...

    Sea foam in fuel system

I've used Seafoam for quite some time on engines/fuel systems that have been sitting for awhile, both gas & diesel. All with great success. I don't use it as a stabilizer nor for long-term storage, other products are better suited for that. But to loosen up a "stale" fuel system it works well...

Source for M920 Parking Brake Valve

When mine starting leaking last year, I removed it and went to a local truck parts supply house that I use regularly. Almost all of the replacements used 1/8" NPT threaded ports, where the stock one requires 1/4". We finally found one that matched up close enough and bought it, but didn't...
