M-Series Wiring Harness Connector Help Needed

Find a local electronics store (NOT the big-box type, but a good local one with knowledgeable employees), they should stock the tools you need and hopefully pass along some expertise as well. Sometimes you get lucky and find an employee who has past military experience with rebuilding/repairing...

Nevada - 5 ton's license plates pulled by DMV

In reference to the original posting that started this thread, I have consulted NRS and several other DMV & NHP sources. Changes were made in 2015 legislative session to NRS in regards to various registrations for these trucks that some people were using to save money; restrictions were added...

Nevada - 5 ton's license plates pulled by DMV

My local MVPA Chapter is working closely with NV legislators and DMV brass, trying to introduce a new Military Vehicle license plate statute in the next legislative session ("Historic Military Vehicle"). M939s CAN be registered as either personal vehicles or commercial vehicles in the state of...

    Artisan's M916

Have you tried a Parker Hydraulics shop by chance? My local one (All-Hose) has managed to match every difficult threading/tapping but one for me, and has done some remarkable custom brazing in the instances where either the threading/tapping was unobtanium or too expensive. Just a thought...

    Pinion brakes

When brake fluid gets hot enough to boil, you are now inducing condensation (aka moisture) into your braking system and rust will attack anything & everything within. Lose-lose all the way around.

    M923a2 fuel pump issue

Since I started using "The Right Stuff" to seal threaded connections on fuel, oil, air lines, I haven't had a single problem with those connections. I no longer use any kind of tape to seal threaded connections. They are easy to unscrew afterwards if necessary, but TRS helps seal against any...

    The New Guy !

Welcome aboard! I won't be around Sin City for much longer, so we probably won't get to meet (I'm too busy trying to escape this place). Fellow member NV555 owns an LMTV (I believe); you shouldn't have a problem with the Las Vegas area DMVs, as long as you are listed on the SF97 or buy from...

Time to buy a bobbed Deuce to tow that 105 trailer....if you can find one for sale that has the K-J dataplate, it would still be a "Jeep."

    Couple issues with M920

But they're worth taking the time to read through...you'll pick up a LOT of other info about your truck that way. I have a lot of them in a separate Subscriptions folder. Most of your electrics will be 12-volt; the starter, slave cable bracket, and military trailer plug in the back of the cab...

    Couple issues with M920

My M920 is a 1980 model and has almost the same exact problems as yours. The only possible cure I have found is with the headlight switch; it can't effectively handle the load of all the lights on, especially when dash lights are dimmed. Previous threads mention to leave it on all the way lit...

M923a2 clanking grinding noise from under cab? Transfer case or U joint?

My 931A2 (RRAD rebuild 2005) had this exact same problem; removed the front driveshaft & found that the front output shaft was broken off inside T-case, and pieces were lying on bottom inside case (per 98G I put some strong magnets on bottom of case to hold them in place while driving). Noises...

Does anyone know anything about Mack DM6116S 6x6 tractors ?

Barstow Truck Parts used to have a few of those, until they were shredded for scrap several years ago (along with many other rare trucks). I'd say snap it up; 6x6 trucks don't come up for sale often, and you should still be able to get parts for it. You could always upgrade the motor to a...

Fun with PA DOT officer ending in putting me out of service + $1200 in fines

The only problem I could see with turning it all over to the Feds, is that they'd be all too happy to eliminate any non-commercial exemptions and require a CDL (physical, driver logs, IFTA, etc...) for EVERYTHING over 26K-lbs.

    Carc 2 available colors

Try adding some Floetrol to your Behr before spraying; it will thin it slightly but retard the drying time to allow for better spray behavior. The retarded drying time also allows the paint to lay down better for a smoother finish coat. Also, be sure to strain your paint & additives before...
