700 mi. What do you guys think?

Oh come on now its not that bad up here. I mean its only -5 right now and this weekend its gonna be a high of -10 on Sunday, so with the over night low and wind chill it should be around -30. I might work on my tan. :)

    Surplus tires

I apologize for my ignorance. Please explain how I should have driven it properly. I'll explain the terrain so you can give me the correct procedure. 1. Path is about 30' wide with brush/tag alders on the left and a barb wire fence on the right-Humvee is in the center. 2. Its pastured...

    Surplus tires

I have been running mine at 25psi and I also removed the rear camber shims since the heaviest thing I will haul is probably a bag of groceries. So far it seems fine. My biggest gripe is the tires themselves. They are pathetic in mud, I got stuck in about 8 inches of mud an of course the old 6.2...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Backdraft Preventer "Not the movie" :) I made a "Backdraft Preventer" or divider if you will. There is a heck of insurgence of air that swirls up and enters behind the rear seats-especially for the passengers backside (aka my kids). Since the weather is getting colder the drop in air temp and...

    New to Me M998

I got my hoses from Kascar and installed a lower radiator hose heater since I was in there anyway.

    HMMWV Half Shafts

This is the 10k one I bought for my left front. Shipping was fast, and it fits good. Seems to be well built so far. I had another shaft that I had tears in the boots so I used Dorman Uni-Fit boot kits on that one. They seem to fit fine for what they are, just a little more labor involved...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Thanks. I did that too, but the biggest problem I had was the strikers were in to far-up and down adjustment wasn't the biggest issue. So I had to move the strikers out in order to get the doors to close completely.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

X Doors Got my X doors on finally after messing around with them every night after work this week. What a cluster that was! Strikers didn't have enough adjustment so I had to hog them out some, then I had to "tweak" the strikers more this way an that way. Then the doors would hit the top rail...

    Fuel filter#

I called Kascar an told them what I had, he told me what I needed an shipped it out for me an it fit perfect. I'd just give them a call.

    Shifter with park upgrade

Can you use a shifter assembly meant for the 4L80 an put it in a HMMWV that still has the 3L80 that currently doesn't have park but will as soon as the parts in the trans get replaced. Im just not sure if you can put that shifter in then adjust it to have the park function work when it also has...

    HMMWV Half Shafts

Ok just so I understand what I need for my 1989 HMMWV then. It has what appears to be the stock cv axles or the A0, 7700# version. From my understanding the replacement one, bolt in, no modifications neccassary, etc., is the 10k version. Is that correct?

    PCB removal

Mine were pretty snug also, I gently used a pair of pliers an once I got it to move some I sprayed the connectors with penetrating lube an worked them back an forth.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

    M998 made it home safely

That's what I would do, is remove the shims an see how it sits then. I have the same problem actually an have to remove my shims yet but I'm holding off till my pitman an idler arm come in as I'm going to do it all at my buddy's shop since he has an alignment machine-so then I'll replace all the...
