    Deuce fuel problems

Thanks for concluding the thread! It is always nice to know how things turned out.

    M35A2 Running Hot

Trucks have different preferences for where their coolant level sits when full. Sounds odd but is true. If I fill mine to the filler neck, she will puke coolant until the level sits where she likes it. This is usually just below the filler. I can barely touch coolant with my finger when she is...

    Charging issues with New alternator

The regulators are still available separately, aren't they? Pretty much plug and play , integrated with a new end cap, if I remember correctly?

    M35A2 Running Hot

I am not advocating to go overboard for what might be a simple problem. If you happen to be draining a lot of coolant in the process of doing thermostat and water pump, it might be good to flush the whole cooling system. Crud, rust and stuff are likely to accumulate over time, reducing cooling...

There are some really nice trucks there. The 5-ton M813 on super singles looks mint.

Ah yes, you can see the louvered radiator cover! And they did not even dent the hard top or bend the rear running board out of shape?? Amazing.

    Detroit 6v53 in an M35A2

Can you imagine building that and making it look as innocent as possible? Like a stock, wimpy B-Mack Thermodyne single axle tractor....hehehe...until you open it up! I can only dream...because if my wife sees me bring home another truck it better be a camper because i'd have to live in it!

Wow, this truck is really clean. Heater in the passenger foot well..I like it! I hope someone that wants to restore a fire truck sees this. They are so much fun, especially with the turret mounted water cannon. The ideal vehicle to have when you live somewhere rural or remote or have a cottage...

    Detroit 6v53 in an M35A2

Those double V8 block engines are...massive! Is this your build?

    M45

Looks good! Tires look near new, especially the rears, We now know it is a multifuel. Naturally aspirated LD (non turbo) judging from the skinny stack. Looks quite un-molested; flame heater cover still in place, Body looks great, too. Straight and not rusted out, A real nice candidate for a full...

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/second-heavy-truck-ft750w-m45a2-fire-truck-1975.141399/ Unless it is an A2 model or was upgraded, it could still be a gasser. May I suggest that perhaps someone might be interested in restoring a low-volume production model such as as the fie truck? You...

    Almost bought a truck today

And if you absolutely must have a turbo, bring that creampuff home, get the parts needed (the kits are still out there; add your own turbo) and slap one on. Really not a big deal. That is what the military did. The non-turbo performance penalty is small and especially when equipped with a...

    Detroit 6v53 in an M35A2

Thanks to YouTube suggestions I realized that 13foxtrot is also the guy that has the cool whistler w/w Deuce dump! Also a video.

Anybody have any aftermarket M35A* LED headlights they particularly like?

The cheapo lights I bought are 12-28V capable! Good point - always verify.

Anybody have any aftermarket M35A* LED headlights they particularly like?

I have gone through two sets of TruckLite milspec LED headlights where one always died after a while, usually losing low beam on one side. Apparently, they have issues with bad solder joints and they are next to impossible to fix because everything is encased in rock hard potting. After that...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Decided to remove the pioneer tool rack and put a military under bed storage box there instead. I figure that is a tad more practical. Space for my winch strap, chain and snatch block, as well as the emergency triangles and flares.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Got them last year from eBay for about the same price one pays for the single IR lights. Did a little thread on how to convert the IR portion to a second clear light and was staring at them for 10 months before getting around to mounting. They have a base that mounts to the truck and the whole...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Mounted and wired up the lights. For now, they come on with the high beams. When the switches and diodes come in, I will add a LED flasher so I can use them as "emergency lights", wig-wagging, as well. :) Blackout lights are hooked up as well.

    Detroit 6v53 in an M35A2

Not sure if this guy is a member here - curious about his build. I have a soft spot for Driptroits. It looks like a Deuce chassis with an old International cab. Sounds good, though! It is not completely blasphemous, either. The 6V53 powered the M113 for example, so it did see military...
