    Runaway starter

Have you found the Technical Manual section of this website yet? If not, scrolll to the top of the page and look to the right. There is a link called TM. Open it. Then find the CUCV part. Open it. Then open TM’s for the CUCV. The manual ending in -20 has a wonderful 70 some odd page...

    7/16 starter bolts

Stock GM metric starter bolts are available. I get mine from amazon normally. I’m not really sure what you are asking for.

    Runaway starter

If the starter engages as soon as you hook up the batteries then you are left with most likely two things. The small wire on the solenoid is touching the big wire also on the solenoid. Or since it worked fine before but is now stuck on. Your solenoid Could be fused internally. This happened to...

    Wiring harness install question

The front harness is a tremendous work out. All of the bolts are too high to get if laying flat and I can’t sit all the way up under the truck. So it turns into one long continuous crunchy.

M1009 suddenly only crawls, eventually tops out at 35 MPH.

Fuel or air. Fuel wise a clogged fuel pick up sock in the tank, clogged fuel filter on the firewall and then a clogged fuel return check valve on the Injection Pump are the easiest to check. Air filter and making sure a birds nest isn’t in the intake manifold are about all you can check.

    Wiring harness install question

If you pull your air filter canister out you will see all the wires around the starter. 74B is supposed to be the wire going to the solenoid to activate the starter. 74A is supposed to go into the fuel cutoff solenoid that the other end of 74B goes into. The other end of 74A is the red button...

    Anyone in Texas here?

Yes, as Rich wrote. Give us a town. Maybe one of the dozens of Texas members will be nearby.

Is that the LAST new one, Holy Cow

I had the same reaction a few years ago when I had to get another front harness. They are out there at much better prices. It just won't be from your first page of Google search results I found.

    Weepy injection pump

There are seals on the throttle shaft that are known to start seeping. Several ways to look at it: Just keep driving and checking to see if it gets worse. Which a lot of people do but is not the safest idea in the world. Change the throttle shaft seals with the IP on the engine. People...

Deuce - M35 Front End Alignment.

I like that PVC method. Never heard of it before. NDT tires will hold a regular tape measure on the center rib which makes a single person alignment real easy. Basically, you want to measure the front of the tire from a repeatable location of the tread on both tires. Then do the same at the...

Deuce - M35 Front End Alignment.

I used a pickle fork and BFH to get mine apart. The alignment is super easy. 9.00 tires the front should be 1/8” closer together than the rear. 11.00 tires they are supposed to be 1/4” toe in. The -20 list it out.

    High voltage m1009

If you only have a single battery. Your charging system could be just fine. It is playing catch-up because even a 12 volt starter on the 6.2 diesel needs over 1500 amps. You probably have an 800-1000 amp battery in there. Glow plug and starting is draining your battery and the alternator is...

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

Coolant ports are all over the 6.2 engine. Each head has one at one end. Pass rear (Cold start/fast idle inhibit switch) and drivers forward (Idiot light) past the last exhaust port on each side. The cross over block off plates at the rear of both heads can be used. Stock CUCV uses the...

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

There is a pressurized oil port above the oil filter and oil cooler lines. It has a square 1/4 NPT plug in it. That plug takes a square 1/4” tool. A 1/4” socket extension will fit just long enough to probably round it out. There is a Snap-On tool made just for it. Great place for oil temp. Or...

Banks to discontinue sidewinder turbo this month.

Find out if the turbo for the Ford 6.9/7.3 kit from Banks is available. Bigger turbo with a waste gate.

    Glow plug advice.

As posted above. The stock replacement is the 13G. 12 volt. I have 60G glow plugs in all of my trucks. You have to change the wire connector for them to plug in. However, since the 60G is self limiting. They self regulate and shouldn’t swell up if on too long or even worse. Explode inside your...
