    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Huge milestone day! She moved and stop with out the help of brick wall. Haha Finally was able to finish up the brakes with connecting everything and bleeding them and axles were filled back up. Got the brakes down yesterday so let sit overnight and this morning it still had brakes so I figured...

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

And today she is on her own weight again. Everything lines up right and it all looks good. Now to run brake lines again and make sure they are down out of the way and get her to stop and move on her own. All in time for parade season hahaha. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Few more days of work and now the truck has all the axles back in places. Donor axle came apart really easy. Found a hand full of metal chunks so that center got tossed off to the side. Cleaned out the housing stripped the brake parts off since those were shot too. The bent axle well that was...

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

That's good idea I'll have to see if I have any plywood laying around. If not I could probably use some old metal roof panels Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Well the 1st axle is back in place under the truck. Talk about a pain getting across the dirt area and up in place. Definitely need to figure out a better way for the 2nd one. The 2nd axle will take alittle more time before its ready to go back in place. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

I found a nice surprise today when I drained the oil from the four axles. The two that came off the truck nice clean oil no metal no water nothing to cause for worry. Then went to the other two, 1st one started draining ok a bit black but expected being who knows how old. Then half way through...

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

New parts are ordered. Old stuff cleaned up and painted. Getting ready to reinstall it all. I do think after going through all these parts, if anyone hasn't going through their suspension since they got their truck to do so. Ubolts had some serious rust on them and some of the dog bone end...

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Interesting point. I didn't think of the amount of movement or should say lack of movement being an issue. Sent from my SM-N986U1 using Tapatalk

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Weather and time has finally lined up. So I was finally able to take the rest of the suspension off. Rear spring came off the trunion pretty easily. I could it hasn't been serviced in a very long time. The grease was pretty hard in spots. So that will all get cleaned up. But the question is do...

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Finally got both rears out from under the truck and then did a quick power wash to clean them off some. Now to set the area up for tear down and rebuild. And I gotta figure out a better way to get these heavy things back under the truck when done. Sent from my SM-N986U1 using Tapatalk

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Ok cool that will make life so much easier. One of the axle is leaking water out of the top end. The second one seems to be good. But still gonna tear into it and make sure Sent from my SM-N986U1 using Tapatalk

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

More work finally done. It's a slow process. But ran into something that I'm not sure is any issue or not. I found out the donor axles came out of a gasser. The axles are stamped with 3 27 53 and are Timken Detroit axles. The axles that came off my M36 are Rockwell. Now the question is will...

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Finally got around to fixing the rear axle after the failed test run awhile back. Took awhile to be able to get out to get the rear axle set got a pretty good deal on the both axles complete with a the section of frame they were cut out of. Forgot to take some before pictures of the donor axles...

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Got the troop seats all done and the headache rack done. Everything looks good and works good. Even pulled out the cover looks like my uprights are a bit short. Have to go look the TM to see what it should be for the M36. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Well that makes sense hahaha. Probably should have looked that up before cutting. Luckily I have extras. Thanks pointing that out Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Made some progress on the troop seats. Got one out four done. Lots of cutting and drilling of the fiberglass boards and the seat legs have to be cut too seems like the bed is shorter then what these racks came off of. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
