    It says 65hz

Well, it looks like i can replace the meter and the transducer with a new digital one for 50 bucks, so i think i will do that. I will still do the tests first for the experience, and to determine what the real problem is. looks like the original parts are more expensive.

    It says 65hz

Is that the same as "frequency converter" p/n 72-5019 in the TM? Gonna test using your method, thanks.

    It says 65hz

thanks! I own a kill a watt,,,but forgot about it. I tried the adjusting knob right away, but could not change the meter, even though the rpms were changing. I dont know know if this affects the problem,,,but when I bought it, the battery cables were on backwards,,, positive and negative were...

    It says 65hz

I got an 003a the other day. When running the hz meter goes to 65, or pegs to the right. The voltage is ok by my voltmeter, and the meter on the unit. How do I determine if the hz gauge is bad, or if it is running incorrect hz?

    Starter solenoid 003a

Does this aftermarket starter fit whether you have type 1 or 2? I ask the seller but never got a reply. I did buy a new solenoid from local "starter repair" house, but that cost $100, and I think I may buy the aftermarket set for my spare parts box since it is only 25 more for the starter too.

    Starter solenoid 003a

Sections are missing where it splintered into very tiny pieces. Also main terminal is where it broke. I thought about gluing it right away, but it did not look good when I put the pieces together. Also, it is an emergency piece of equipment here,,which has to run when I need it, so I will...

I found aftermarket starters on ebay. Do they replace type 1 and 2?

    Starter solenoid 003a

Well, i broke the cap on the starter solenoid. Too much strength on the socket tightening the batt cable. I dont find any on ebay, is there a standard onan one available without buying military replacement? It is type 1 shown in the manual.

    Flywheel removal 002A

I want to remove the flywheel om my 002A to clean the stator,,hoping to improve my charging rate. What are the 6 bolts for? Do i remove them, or just the center bolt to get the flywheel off? edit: found it in manual thanks to GMG. Can't figure out how to delete thread

002a quits with no batt cable?

Yes, thanks, it was a mistake. Should have been 27VDC. Measured at the battery.

002a quits with no batt cable?

Triple jim,,,after 20 minutes it was up to 27 VAc. I guess it charges? That is as high as it got running for 40 minutes

002a quits with no batt cable?

Ok, will put sheet metal back and do that. Thanks still, how would it keep running with no batteries if it takes that long to get to 28v?

002a quits with no batt cable?

So stator needs replaced if under 30VAC?

002a quits with no batt cable?

Thanks chainbreaker, i had read that, but mine has no red banded wire like the directions talk about. I guess it depends on if 25.8 is high enough on the stator.

002a quits with no batt cable?

The fuse is ok. Someone has redone the wiring i think, since the wire connections are the blue ones we all buy at the store and crimp. I measured stuff, but did not unhook anything. Was i supposed to unhook before measuring? The 2wires comeing from stator measure 25.80 AC. The wire that...

002a quits with no batt cable?

I found the regulator. Taking the sheet metal off now. When i took out the fuse, it is tight in the cap, but not on the other end. Is there supposed to be a spring or something to contact the end of the fuse when you insert it? I can stick the fuse in without the cap on it, and it seems very...

002a quits with no batt cable?

It does read 26 volt at batt terminals when running, but starts out at 24,,,,slowely going up to the 26v

002a quits with no batt cable?

Well, i guess not. Thats wht i was trying to figure out. As soon as i unhook a battery cable, it quits, and does not run even if i replace the cable real fast. I have to go restart it with the start switch. Where does the regulator hide on the 002a?
