Lots of pics were posted under Florida Round Up in the upcoming events thread. You'll see that the Pinz's outnumbered american steel by nearly three to one :P

You are correct in everything you said.
The shielded cables are leftovers from the civi conversion.
I have a single separate Red Top in the tool box that has it's own set of circuit breakers for the radioes, cell phone chargers etc... A longer fan belt is necessary but keep the...
Some pics of the 12V magneto set up on the 712. This isn't the finished product as there is only one attatchnebt point.
I'll get some more pictures up tonight of the final install.
Over 1000 miles on this set up so far without any problems :D

RE: Re: 710 transfer case in 712
I'm not looking to haul the heavy loads a 712 was designed for so getting lower RPM at highway speed is probably a better thing.

RE: Re: 710 transfer case in 712
As you may know I have a 710 and I am thinking of putting the transfer case from it on the 712.
I am also thinking of doing the 2.7 upgrade, and I have an EFI kit on order.
With all that to think about building up the 2.7 and installing the EFI on the 710...
Mike is talking about a magneto. It's how aircraft generate electricity to fire the plugs in a piston aircraft. Smaller lighter and more efficient than a generator or alternator.

It looks like I am going to have to do some work on the tranny of the 712. Synchro in second gear is almost non-existant. The question at hand is while I am down there do I switch out the transfer case?
I have seen some 712's listed for sale with 710 transfer cases installed ostensibly for...
I don't claim to know everything but I can give you some advice.
My point here is that there is more than one way to skin a cat...
Pick what suits you best.

Vince,
I have found that alot of the Pinz aftermarket guys are like crow, a lot of talk without much to back it up. Forums like this are the best place to find what individuals make work.
I have no doubt Mike will come up with a suitable alternative but I wouldn't wait around for it for the...
Thanks Mike,
I'm getting used to the 712 at this point. I have another car, but it's a lease and I can't put alot of miles on it.
I had put a fair number of miles on my 710 before my adventures earlier this year. I enjoy driving the pinz to work and out to my Mom's farm which is about an...
Sure that is why I got a pinz instead of a Mog. I did about 60 the whole way even had to pass a few people
We drove 1/4 tons (M151's) down the highway when I was in the Army and they topped out around 50-55 depending on how brave you were.
You could put an additional oil cooler in...
One of the things to think about with throwing anything more under the dog box is that everything in there will act as a heat sink. This being an aircooled engine that might prove to be a problem. ie less is more. My two cents worth.

Got it from a guy in SC who's wife wouldn't let him get a boat until he got rid of one of his other toys. Drove it home from Charleston Saturday.
As soon as I get the insurance, tag, and title squared away I'll be on the road again.
I'm not giving up on the Worm, but I can't haul much...
12V
My 710 has a solarconverter's system in it and I really like it. I have a separate 12 volt battery in the tool box and use that for all my twelve volt accesories. An added benefit of the third battery is that if the 24 volt sytem dies you can jump start the truck with the twelve volt...
