I was going to use my genset today and went from 3ph to 240 single with the selector switch. It didn't seem right so I thought I would turn it back and it was locked up solid. I thought I read about a similiar condition once but can't seem to locate the thread. Any Ideas? What to look for? Thanks
All of the gen sets I have gotten from GL have been missing the oil filter spring and retainer. Not wanting to dump alot of money in them before knowing if they worked, I found a spring at the local hardware store and an SAE flat washer that seemed to work just fine. I maybe wrong but the...
I fired up my 002A today and hooked it up to a military A/C unit. Its a 208 3phase Zeks 36,000 BTU base mounted unit. I think this is comparable to a 3 ton unit. The 002 got it running for a minute then tripped the main breaker, gave it a few minutes rest and hit it again this time it ran for...
Home depot has a small hand held volt/hertz digital meter for $39.00 thats what I use. My frequency meter on my 02 bounces around a bit, so I depend on the hand held unit.
The ball stud on mine broke also. Mine broke at the rod end because it was plastic. Went to the local speed shop and got a new ball stud made of metal and works great.
Ok found the problem inside the fault light box. Took it apart and there was a white wire going to each of the lamp holders, jumped from one holder to the next. The 2 lamps that worked were over volt and over freq, the jumper wire from over freq to the next lamp was some how shorted and that...
I had my 004A running my fathers house during Irene and thought the same thing about fuel consumption ran about 10 hours and still above 3/4. From my best guess the genset ran about 26 hours on a full tank of fuel before it ran out of fuel and shut down. This is the first time we ever ran for an...
Thanks Peter, I did think of that and I will get into it tomorrow. The reason I didn't check bulbs first is because the oil pressure light does come but goes off in the test position.
I have a MEP 004A. We used it during Irene to power my dads house and garage. When I got it back to my shop to go over it I noticed that when I push the toggle switch to test the fault lights only 2 lights come on now. over volt and over amp I think thats it. They all used to come on when the...
Just acquired a 36,000 BTU Zeks base mounted air conditioner. It is 3 phase which I have in my shop and was thinking of using it there. Anybody familiar with this unit? Anyone have a manual for this unit? It almost looks brand new, but needs a power cord and 14 lbs of R22 to get it going. Any...
Has anyone tried using bio diesel in the military diesel gen sets? I have a mep-004 and was thinking of giving it a try. My car, truck and oil burner seem to run fine on it.
