    balancing tires with ball bearings?

I went to a web page that sells ceramic beads for semi tires. They had the michelin 395/85r20 listed and recomended for 24 or 25 oz. I believe the goodyears are about 40 to 50 lb lighter and thought that 20-22 oz would be a good guess. If you are a little heavy they just spread out. I will...

    balancing tires with ball bearings?

I know this has already been discussed in posts but I can't find it with a search. My 2 piece tubless wheels are coming in and I plan to use 20-22oz of 1/4 inch ball bearings loose in each tire to balance them. Is there a heat or wear problem with steel? I noticed the balancing material for...

    On Board Air Hose Reel...Done

maker/source of reel? Great use of the dead space and looks great! Is that just a gas station reel or is it made to put on a vehicle? Do you know who makes them? I have seen something like it in northern tool. Craig

    Power difference after FDC bypass

performance differences on gas So the bottom line is that performance will suffer on gas more if the FDC is bypassed than if it is not. Is that correct. Also with the FDC bypassed and running diesel it will run better than without the FDC by passed ?? Some responses indicate little or no...

    mod pristene m35a2 w/w or trade/buy m275 comments?? trades??

The auction ended at $5000 for the ebay m275. I decided it was going to cost to much to get it out to Colorado. After hearing the positive comments though I am going to keep looking for one closer to Colorado. Everything I have found is nearly that far away. There was one on a GSA auction...

    mod pristene m35a2 w/w or trade/buy m275 comments?? trades??

I was not planning on cutting anything on the m275. It is very close to what I want. It has already been modified but does not look cut up. In either case I would remove the beds. A bed has been added to the m275 on ebay. The idea of a lockout on the center axle is great I will probably do...

    XM757 details

I am looking at a m757 and a m656 with old nd tires (good tread but weathered) has anyone tried to see how large a tire would fit on it? I understand the 14.5 is no longer made so would like some options. Also are axle parts available? Craig

    mod pristene m35a2 w/w or trade/buy m275 comments?? trades??

mod or not?? Thanks for the input Clinto and Lee say don't cut it. Corporal?? says mod it. Don pointed out that it costs more to modify than buy ready to go. -I was thinking along Dons lines as I now have $4,000 m37 with about $5,000 into it and a $500 wc62 with $1500 into it. (Parts and pick...

    mod pristene m35a2 w/w or trade/buy m275 comments?? trades??

I have a 1966 Reo m35 with 8,000 on a depot rebuild in 1991 - new 465 d, axles rebuilt, od trans rebuilt, air shift transfer rebuilt. No rust camo w/camo 1piece cover. Problem is I want to modify it or preferably a m275 with the shorter wheelbase. There is one on ebay now but the guy wants...

goodyear mvt I got 7 very good 395/85r20 goodyear mvt's from usa6x6 in December. He had at least 7-10 more. As I lack the lathe/cutting equipment I ordered wheels from Stazworks. I will post pics when they arrive.

Weight of a 5 ton winch

RE: winch What does level wind look like? Assume that makes it eaiser to wind in especially when you have no help. I have been thinking about putting a 5 ton on the back or at the front of the bed on my m35.

    New Tire Setup on Deuce

The 14.5's on the front look great though the narrower 1100's are better in snow. Is the backspacing on the a3 wheels still 10 inches? I hope mine don't stick out past the fenders much further than yours (395/85R20 goodyear)

    M35a3 wheel

gringeltaube I hope the wheels I ordered look that great. PWN Both stazworks and usa6x6 prefer a 6 inch backspacing on a 10 inch wheel but said they could do 7 I asked for 6 because I have 395/85-20s and want room for the front wheels to turn fully or close to it with chains.

    M35a3 wheel

    Tire chains

chains I got 3 pair of gama goat chains in Idaho a surplus store a few years ago $20/pair(never used them on the goat manual says to only use 2 sets). They had a big selection. They are 1100x18. I now have them on my m37 that has 900x20's. They are a little long and a little wide but heavy...
