Guys. I'm fairly new and a bit confused on the back up lights. Is there a thread that shows how to install the switch? Do I need to add rear lights as well or will tail light go bright while in reverse? sorry for these basic questions.

After I removed the shifter assembly, it appears my truck is equipped with a backup light switch.

Just got my seat bases from 86humv and they look great. NDT - did you paint the base and the wedge? I have my scotch brite and self etching primer ready but they look so good as is. I may just paint the wedges to start - what do you guys think?

Thank you for the quick response. I haven't fully removed the whole thing - I've been trying to replace the lighted indicator without pulling shifter totally out. How do I take the shifter out? I asume cables are attached. How do they disconnect? What is the procedure? Thank you again.

After a moderate struggle, I finally was able to remove the 4 long bolts holding the shifter box down on my M1152. I fear the nuts will be nearly impossible to put back from below. I think I read some of you installed threaded rivet nuts for these bolts. How do you do this? Is it done from...
