    pictures on trucks?

Personally, I have not seen it. Some low contrast, dark-on-camo artwork, such as the silhuette of a wolf, that is about it. Any such endeavour was seen as "graffiti", at least when I was in the military.

I think its time for a head gasket replacement.

Here is a thread with some head gasked replacement wisdom you will be interested in: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?48620-Head-gasket-repair-walk-through&highlight=headgasket

    Tow bar workings

I don't blame you and the event is out of context - I was towing a friend's disabled 816 from a dangerous to a safe place off the road. I'm with you on safety. Leaving it where it was would have been desaster.

    Tow bar workings

Ifyou want a bit more thrill, tow an 816 wrecker with an empty singled out Deuce, without the air connection hooked up to the 5-ton. In a right turn, I got all 6 wheels spinning on asphalt. But it turned. It also stopped. Eventually. I towed it less than a mile and that was enough.

found m35a1 what am I in for

Consider Russ' suggestion. You are currently looking at a truck that was built for running slowly, on unpaved roads or off road. You do not want to do that. It has a five speed synchronized tranny which you do not like. You need a top speed that is at least 10mph, probably 15-17mph, above what...

    Fuel fired heater woes

    Ingenious fix! Very industrious.

    Cupholder Suggestions

I found that the 3" axle nut socket placed onto the tranny tunnel makes a good cup holder, if the ride is reasonably smooth. It is quite a heavy piece.

    Matilda wont start. :-(

If you have a soldier "B", spraying a short burst while cranking is best. If not, then the key is the "half second shot". More is not better with ether cans. The ether vapour is mixed with plenty of air on its way through the mushroom, filter housing and intake. Any one cylinder sucking in...

New Gauge mount Enclosure, attaches to steering column. W/new EGT & Boost Gauges

peashooter, this is well thought out and appears to be superbly executed. It looks like something the military could have developed (for about $2000 a piece) as an upgrade, if they still had our trucks in service.

    Matilda wont start. :-(

Wow. It is 1.5 F (-17 C) here and we fully expect stuff to crank and start! Of course, a heated battery blanket and a block heater do help a lot. I have thought about upgrading my Multifuel to Ether start.

    Matilda wont start. :-(

If she ran ok before, then one or both batteries not holding a charge would be my first suspicion! Sometimes, if the batteries are older and/or have been sitting a lot, a long drive with an alternator pushing them to max voltage can cause them to call it quits. I'd put two known good batteries...

Changing oil in deuce for first time

Here is a little trick if you are in a pinch and have to re-use any copper seal ring: - hold the ring gently with needle-nose pliers and heat it up with a blow torch until the ring glows orange - set it down and let it cool - gently sand/polish the ring on fine sand paper on a flat surface...

My new Deuce. Or should it be Dice?

Given your avatar and user name, parts prices may not really shock you. Unlike the A2, A3 wheel bearings and seals are pricey, as are many parts for the CAT diesel and the Allison transmission. From different forum members' experiences, it appears that the main A3-specific items to watch out...

    Exhaust for a turbo multi-fuel

Yes, but how is the IP adjusted? As per TM specs (you would have had to turn down fuel injection quantity as per TM)? The LDT's will pull amazingly with the fuel turned up, but you need - have to have - an EGT gauge to prevent cooking the turbo..and pistons, especially when running them at...

Search is your friend: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?71384-Steering-box-finaly-gave-out&highlight=steering+box+problem Maybe that will help getting you started. Here is another one that might be relevant, seeing how it is winter and...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

If I read the document correctly, this is the patent description, in detail, for the Multifuel engine. Very much Deuce-related, I'd say!

    no turn signals

This is, unfortunately, not uncommon. Your flasher unit is likely now fried and you will need yet another one. My theory of electronics: They function magically by grey smoke contained in the electronic components. If you do something stupid and cause the grey smoke to leak out, the electronics...

broke down need help near UnionTown Pa

In this case, isn't a stuck plunger in the hydraulic head a possible culprit? I also remember reading a thread that described a similar sounding issue with fuel to the pump, even to the head and no flow into the injector lines. What the heck..I did the search...here it is...

New Gauge mount Enclosure, attaches to steering column. W/new EGT & Boost Gauges

Yes, sir: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?67703-What-did-you-do-to-your-deuce-this-week&p=1151941&viewfull=1#post1151941 Fuel is turned up, but mildly so. I did paint the pod and gauge surround green in the meantime!
