Don't get discouraged linesplice. They're are plenty of deuces out there and they fall below the weight restrictions. In fact, I have an M211 for sale cheap if you are interested!
linesplice - What can I say? Here is what happened to me with a 2 1/2 ton truck. I belong to COMVEC and three weeks ago I tried to register my deuce as an antique and the DMV told me "no way, over 19,000 lbs it's commerical get it inspected". I stood at the DMV and argued with the clerk, the...
Linesplise - I don't know about the RV route, you can try it.
I know CT won't let you register that as an antique, unless you fudge the GVWR on your registration paperwork. You can register it as a commercial vehicle but they will make you get it inspected.
From my experiences at the DMV...
I'm looking for a reasonably priced M75 APC that is a candidate for restoration. Please reply or PM me if you have or know of one for sale.
Thanks,
Alan
I just registered my deuce in CT, and they almost did not let me do that because of the GVWR.
I registered as an Antique, and they told me anything over 19,000 GVWR had to be registered as a commericial vehicle and had to undergo the commercial vehicle inspection. The catch is that since the...
I'm looking for this type of M135 tailgate, if anyone has one they will part with. I have a very nice, standard M135 gate to trade if interested.
Thanks,
Alan
Adam -I did put in sill plates, but someone on here gave me the wrong dimensions, and I had to rip them down. They are still a bit too big, but I'll fix that later.
Joel - Yes we used the hoist to get the bed up on the blocks. A little at a time.
I'll post some more detail pics of the truck...
The M-34 is starting to look like a truck! Painted the cab and frame OD, and put the bed on it. I'm hoping to have it done and registered by friday so I can drive it to the COMVEC show. If anyone wants to see pics on how to mount a bed on a truck with two guys and no heavy equipment let me...
I think Saturn has them, or Adirondak Dodge. Also there is a guy in Canada who seems to have a ton of them.
I'll check with my pard who sourced all the ones we used on our trucks and get back to you.
The M34 and 135 Bed are the same. They are narrower than an M35 Bed, but the holes still line up since all these trucks have a common frame.
The M35 bed is made to clear the rear tires without having a wheel well, but it's made to clear the smaller dual tires of the M35 and 211 and not the...
An M35 Bed may fit on an M135 if you take the rear wheels off!
The M135 has super singles on it which won't let you put an M35 bed on it. The tires are bigger and won't clear the bed. That is why the 135 and M34 beds have wheel wells. Thats also why the 211 and M35 eventually replaced the...
