The data plate with the delivery date is of course gone, but I was guessing it was a 1950 since it has some other unusual features on it.
It still had the original oa-331 gas engine in it.
Here is the rear axle with most of the paint and goo taken off of it. Does anyone know what these markings mean? I was hoping to get a date out of this mess!
I like Military Vehicles Magazine. Always had a bunch of great articles and pictures on all sorts of military vehicles. I can't wait for each issue to arrive!
TNJ Mrray had a set of those down at aberdeen. They brought them down there for a friend of mine, who actually found another pair cheaper at the show. They still had them when we left, so you might want to give them a call. They are not easy to find from what I understand.
I dated a girl for 8 years, and towards the end she went absolutley balistic when I was building my WW1 Ambulance because she said it was taking away from "her" time. After she had a near nervous breakdown when I went to look at and M-151A2, I knew that I could never spend the rest of my life...
Look at the horizon in the background, absolutley flat. I didn't think the NTC was that flat, I know they have some ridges and hills around there. Maybe Kuwait?
Found a guy who had two of them he was using to store firewood in! Got a great deal on the bed, seats, bows, and canvas.
Truck runs great and is in really good shape except for those fenders. It also came with a gas M-35 for parts which I am going to steal the fenders off of.
Still need a...
My M-34 was delivered on Friday, and I picked up a bed for it on Saturday. Looking forward to many wasted hours putting it back together this summer. Definitly a unique truck! I'll post more pics as work progresses if people are interested.
When finised it will be an exact replica of the...
Looking for the early style gate with the integral step in the gate itself as opposed to the later one with the step brackets like an M-35 or M-211 tailgate. If you have one kicking around please contact me.
Thanks,
Alan
Thanks! You can use the pic in your newsletter if you like.
The Army bought about 4000 of these during WW1 and sent all but a handful to France. About half were used as ambulances, and the other half as utility vehicles. None were brought back after the war, so there are no surviving...
It currently is down to a rolling chassis with the engine, tranny and bed still on it. The cab, front sheet metal and engine accessories have been taken off. It comes with a new cab floor that was fabricated but not installed as well as a bunch of other parts.
Engine and tranny are good. Has...
I am in the process of buying an M34, and was wondering if anyone else owned one or had any historical information on them.
My Dad drove an M-34 in the Army from 1951-1952. His unit may have been one of the 1st to receive the then new M-series vehicles. I would like to know how long they were...
