    starter bolts

The starter bolts have a habit of coming lose. When they do they can damage the starter housing. Put some sealing compound on the bolts thread and torque them to 42-52lb-ft.

Well , it's 100% more info on the subject than what you had before I posted about it. You can always take it from there and see if google has more to offer on this overspeed subject.

Strange CTIS issue - could use some input

The black CTIS ECU will show the overspeed light until the truck is driven above 40-45mph for a few minutes. So that's not it. The transmission output sensor not working right will cause the overspeed light as well.

Strange CTIS issue - could use some input

@awesomeness : did you drive your truck for a few minutes with a speed between 40-45mph after changing to the black CTIS? Observe what the overspeed light does after you have driven the truck

    FMTV Replacement Door Handle Upgrade

The failure rate of the A0 handles is 100% within 50 years. Thats a made up number just as the 40% is , without reference, I call shenanigans on it. My 2006 has newer style handles . They look similar to many other Oshkosh door handles . So I think replacents will be cheaper, even with a 45%...

M998 speed (or lack of it)

There you go. How much was it going to cost anyway? I may be interested in selling mine to the right person.

M998 speed (or lack of it)

I believe that HMMWV you've been driving had one or more stuck calipers. That would slow down the driving experience a lot. I would have looked for red hot calipers after the drive. If the acceleration was slow , but slow down quickly, when letting go of the accelerator, then you got your answer...

    Dana Diagnostic tool

The valve block had an internal leak , that would cause the air pressure to drop on a hurry. Once that was fixed the pressure stabilized.

    Dana Diagnostic tool

Well the CTIS is fixed. I know online diagnostics is a difficult business. However it was a leak inside the CTIS valve block, not the governor or the Air compressor or the Air Dryer. But I guess it was still a good idea to replace the Air dryer filter cartridge inside the air Dryer. without...

New air dryer cartridge. Turned governor screw out a lot. Pressure doesn't raise. ~90psi. ctis PSU pressure is a bit lower. Cycling air and pushing brake pedal. Drained tanks a few times. P>S> the CTIS starts it's magic at around 70PSI.

    Locked out of Cab

I always thought these trucks you see on Govplanet with a missing cab were combat locked vehicles.

    Cleaning of cooling radiator fins

There are several layers of radiators plus a quite large area to cover through a relatively small and obstructed opening. makes one wonder how effective a far gen hose really is.

    Cleaning of cooling radiator fins

I was cleaning off some crud and noticed a lot of dirt running out from the fins of the radiator. I tried to rinse it as best as I could. what is the best way to do this?

    Locked out of Cab

I'm talking about stainless steel hex bolts not button head socket cap bolts, AKA utter garbage.

    Locked out of Cab

not sure why anyone would use those crappy bolts. Stainless steel hex bolts are far superior

Hooah!!! Maybe that will alleviate the intermittent up and down on the front PSI gauge I've been seeing.
