    New rig!

Good save on the truck! If you need parts to restore the electrical, Lord knows there are a lot of CUCV parts truck owners here that can help out with the resto. Be a great truck to see at the Rausch Creek PA rally in October!

Which Machine Gun did the 939 series carry?

The only 1919s that FedGov still owns are in their museums. And the ones we gave other countries for Lend Lease in WWII. And the thousands we left behind in Vietnam are still technically ours. So you're going WAY back in time. The M939 series trucks started coming out in the early to mid...

Identify this massive Aircraft Tug, Please?

Perhaps it's a Grove aircraft tug? There aren't many manufacturers for the big tugs, Google Search is your friend....

    Hiller UH-12B

Helicopters from the 1940s-1950s all looked very odd to me. Part of the reason was most of them were piston-driven craft, which was limited in their lift capabilities. The airframe was designed around the engine, and shortcuts had to be made to limit the airframe's size and weight, to minimize...

Fall 2013 Rausch Creek PA rally - what weekend?

It's almost July, we have to start planning the Fall 2013 Rausch Creek PA rally for those who want to come out and wheel their MVs over rocks and dirt again! The poll questions give three options for weekends. Mid-to-late October has always worked out well for us. Any later and it's too cold...

Great design, I'll have to save some pics of yours for future reference, so I can build my own set...

    Clothing repair shop, trailer mounted

Last time I looked at them, the sewing machines were still in them. They were Singer industrial models, all metal and looked pretty robust.

    Clothing repair shop, trailer mounted

Why is there not much info on them? They were purpose built for a tactical military support purpose, which doesn't really carry over into the civilian world. Noone needs a mobile trailer to repair clothing in the civilian sector, so when the units got surplussed out, most of them got scrapped...

    Clothing repair shop, trailer mounted

There are a bunch of them at Coleman's Surplus in PA. I might make a run up there next week, I'll take some pics if you want them.... If the meantime, here's a thread on the subject...

help me design a radio shelter

Thanks for the input... In place of the sink, I think a good addition would be a dehumidifier, to keep the inside of the shelter nice and dry at all times, when it's in its travels or at home as well. With all the radio and electronic gear I plan to install, keeping the rigs dampness-free...

    Trailer for a M1008

If you get a M101A1 or the original M101, the wheels on them are 5-lug Power Wagon wheels, while the M1008 pickup uses 8-lug standard rims. I'm not saying you shouldn't get a M101A1, they are great trailers, just if you end up getting one, you will have to carry a spare tire/wheel for the...

    This one's in sad shape!

That explains why - I never shop there so I don't know what the parking lot resembles. I'm always at Lowe's for hardware. The specialty stuff and fittings I go to Winchester and shop at Solenbergers.

Old girl put back on active duty

See what happened from all the sleeping around I did with hookers when I was off on vacation? I started franchising. I have my own unit named after me, sniff sniff. I feel all warm inside. Oh wait, that's just gas.

    This one's in sad shape!

I had one in worse shape last year, it got parted out to those who can use them. Some trucks and trailers aren't in great shape, and the owners just use them for work. Maybe not museum pieces or parade trucks, but they get work done. Bet you wouldn't hesitate to throw 1,500 lbs of firewood...

help me design a radio shelter

After looking over matt1970m35's S-280 shelter, and coming up with further ideas, I've had the following thoughts: 1. No sink or water supply. While convenient for me for camping, I suddenly had a horrible thought about water and a sink on one side of the shelter, and high-end high-voltage...

    2013 Haspin Discussion Thread

I doubt the shelter campers will be there for long once the big rigs we drive show up in force and surround them.
