    Tow Bar Stowage Ideas

I've looked at every thread referenced here about Tow Bars, and every other thread cross-referenced in those threads and have yet to see any photos of the HEAVY TOW BAR that I have. So.... Here's a comparative photo showing the HEAVY Vs the MEDIUM Tow Bars. As you can see, the HEAVY Tow Bar...

May you and your 8-wheeled-wonder be forever blessed. Congrats!

    Tow Bar Stowage Ideas

Some of my considerations.... The front bumper location, though convenient and a comfortable lifting height, exposes the tow bar to potential damage in a collision. It does, however, render a really hunky look to an already tough looking MV. Under the frame or bed means it could be...

    Tow Bar Stowage Ideas

Thank you, Gentlemen, for the link and the photos/ideas. I suppose that searching when it's way past bedtime is less effective in finding results than I should have expected.

    Tow Bar Stowage Ideas

I was undecided which Forum would be the best location for this thread, so since Tow Bars convert vehicles into "trailers" I settled on this one. Here's the situation.... We presently own a Medium Tow Bar AND a HEAVY Tow Bar. We also own a Deuce - M35A2 and a 5-Ton Semi-Tractor - XM-818...

How to title a Mk48 in Oklahoma?

You raise a good point. In fact, the FPU, separated from the trailing unit, can be operated independently. As I recall from other SS Forum discussions, the rear axle of the FPU can be "pinned" or de-coupled from its steering function for maneuvering around a motorpool. I also recall that...

    M66 Gun Ring Assembly

I Google'd your TM and found this in a downloadable form. Hope it helps: TM 9-1005-213-10 and TM 9-1005-245-34&P (Click to open)

How to title a Mk48 in Oklahoma?

Although YOU might not be presently planning to separate the MK48/MK14 combination, I would question the wisdom of titling them as a single vehicle. 1. If you ever did want to swap trailing units, especially for one of different functionality - i.e.: a wrecker - your one-size-fits-all shortcut...

Need to know what series this 1991 AM general 5 ton is?

SouthernSteel: Since you're the OP of this thread, I will ask my questions directly to YOU..... Is this a truck that you already own, or are you looking into purchasing it? (Several here have speculated on this, but we'd like to hear the WHOLE STORY from you.) If it's not yours, do the...

    PNW Info Thread!

In the Bible, when told to flee Lot's wife looked back for "something" and turned into a pillar of salt. That's enough training for me. If God's saying, "RUN!!!", then I ain't lookin' back!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

What have I been using the Deuce for lately??? Uh.... for a workbench while working on the XM-818 5-Ton Tractor! :naner: It's like the little guy holding the tools for the BIG guy's repair and restoration. The Deuce's tailgate is at just the right height for some of the parts-off detail work.

    New 5-ton ... questions

OK, I'll chime in here too. Thank God you still have all your digits. Since you're a self-admitted "new guy" i'll echo the whole "get to know your vehicle by reading the TMs" advice. With that said.... Welcome aboard :-D Find a bunk, stow your gear, and prepare to get underway :driver...

Best caption for M35A2 or other military truck picture?

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, could you please post a copy of the pic you're going to post? Something about the angle, lens used, background, season of the year, etc. would really fuel our creativity and make the appropriate words flow from our fingertips. Thank you. Carry on.
