Some other things I found in loading up the truck:
M880 transmission, TF727
rifle mounting brackets, general purpose kit
4AO84 parts
R-1051G receiver
R-1051H receiver (needs chain replacement - comes with new chain)
GRC-193 rack mount with all cables
minigun ammo feed box, NIB
M79 walnut stock...
I got a bunch of really cool examples of nose art that was done more recently than WWII, but unfortunately most is not for a family audience (some parts are, ahem, not censored). It's a shame, I have lots of ones with girls that are dressed in WWII German garb, not US only.
There is some basic troubleshooting of the RT-524 radio in the manual, it might help you out.
Also, as a side note, BE SURE your antenna cable is new or excellent condition, and your antenna base is in good working order. Worst thing to do is send the amplified RF final output into a faulty...
I like those HMMWV shelters, they have a little more room inside than a S-250 shelter, without going to the size of the S-280. Might be good also for a build on a deuce, have this shelter mounted in the bed towards the back, with a HIAB up front in the bed.
Great work! Way to save a M105...
Might also have a pile of WWII and 1950s era radio gear there for sale, I just got wind of an estate around here where there is a ton of old ham gear that is military-type, the owner doesn't want it and wants to dump the whole pile. If I get my ass in gear I might be able to snag it all and...
Those M416 trailers aren't getting any more common out there, so be sure you save all the parts you can from that pile of army stock. You probably have enough parts there to make 3-4 nice ones, plus spares leftover for half a dozen more....
Wish you were in the States, I need some spare parts...
That's a great looking M109 there!
Also, I know copying someone is the most sincere form of flattery, but seriously dude, you need to get an original idea for an avatar. :)
When I changed my spin on filters, they did make a mess. As I unscrewed them a quart of oil or so slobbered out all over the driver's side of the engine and down.
Look at it this way - it's free rustproofing!
Found the pics - it's not a flatbed, but I have seen flatbeds that use the same trailer base, without the box. It's an MPS-11 radar trailer, like I said I have seem flat-bed versions as well.
You might pay a fortune for one, I can't remember ever seeing one for sale in NOS condition at any rally I've been at. Are there any junkyards in your area with mid-80s Chevys? I'd be surprised if they didn't have at least a usable one....
