They are pretty cool - though they are not military. I believe at one time a couple, 2-3 of them were purchased by the Army for testing in the late 1960s, but it went nowhere. Buy it, paint it OD green and drive it like you stole it....

I plan to fart a lot inside my RV (Durango) the nights to keep warm. It's hard to freeze inside an intermediate cold weather sleeping bag when you've had chili for dinner.

Not sure if there is some confusion here, but to make matters worse there is a M101 trailer in US inventory that is rated at 3/4 ton cargo capacity, and there is a M101 trailer in Canadian inventory that is rated at 1/4 ton capacity. Two different size trailers. The Canadian M101 is more close...

Just letting everyone know the money is gone on this end, running on fumes, so to speak. SO, make a long story short, the M37 gun truck is on hold for now. Not to mention, the weather is getting colder and the leaves are falling, so RLW is living under a tarp until the money and the weather...

The M1101 and M1102 series trailers were designed to be used with the HMMWV only. There is no warning against using them with the M1009 Blazer, but my personal opinion is that they are fairly expensive trailers for what you are getting (expect your CUCV and the M1101 to cost the same money)...

My manual says the M101A2 is 1340 lbs, about the same as the earlier models. I'd look at a lighter and smaller trailer, like a M100 or M416.

Good saves there, any time green iron is saved from the scrap pile, Pvt. Angel gets a set of jump wings in heaven, or something like that.

Worst case scenario, you have a pile of 3/8" thick steel to use for other projects. If you do decide to make something with it, love to see the result.

That's an awesome mod. I'll have to make that a reality sometime next year.... Sure beats that hand-crank one that clinto had a few years back.

Confirmed - I initially said it should not be a problem, but jasonjc is right, the manual states that using a M871 or M871A1 trailer with a M52 series tractor is inherently dangerous.
