Welcome to the site and congratulations on your purchase. There is a lot of information on the site about lisc in Tex. Maybe widen your search parameters and I suspect a number of Texas members will weigh in as well. Start reading the TM's so you know your way around your truck and depending on...
Hey welcome to the site, sounds like you are well and truly bitten! You will love it here, lots of great folk and more knowledge than you can imagine! Nice truck!
bigdogdale, I am about 30 miles east of KC, if you get in a jam and need parts run let me know. My cell is 816 3040597. What is your status now (7:45pm Sunday)?
Have you downloaded the tech manuals, they should show you what you are looking for. The fuel pump is driver side about six inches behind injector pump, has a T handle that you use to prime if you lose it.
Just to help clarify what ducer said, the motor you have in your 925 is not a multifuel motor as was the case in some earlier 2.5ton models. If the motor is not rated multifuel, I would be very careful what you run through it, injector pumps can be expensive. Do a thread search on the topic as...
My impression of learning to drive the Allison correctly meant to learning how to anticipate and adjust throttle to shift points. When I first got the 925 I didn't care for the transmission at all but as I learned how to drive it the transmission seemed to shift easier:D Of course it shifts like...
Welcome to the site, you are in the right place! Let me be the first to direct you to the TM's there is a ton of free information there if you haven't already gone there. Again, welcome and thanks for serving your community!
I understand, I know there are some folk around here that are burning WMO, they just aren't documenting it. I also know the DOT has been doing some sampling so doing it right is a really good idea. As you say, we don't need to give the hobby a black eye. Personally, I don't put anything in my...
Where in Missouri are you located? If you are close to Jeff City, it would be easy to go the DOT and find out what is needed. By the way, welcome to the site.
Looks to me like you are going to have less than a foot of clearance even after your airbags are inflated. Those trailers are known for being low. Are you planning on the tractor dragging the trailer over the high spots or what?
Welcome to the site! I think it's great that you are asking the questions so please don't be offended by my answer. Considering that you didn't even know how to start the truck I would suggest you don't carry the kids any time soon. As I hope you have discovered, driving this truck isn't the...
In my experience producing a sound that surprises people often leads to an immediate use of the brake, the last thing you want when someone pulls out in front of you..... just my two cents.
Sounds like the batteries are all the way down for sure. IF you decide to chase the electrical drain I am sure there are lots of folk here willing to help you. Good luck on whatever you do.
In a commercial setting, your DOT mechanic would normally set your slack adjusters (assuming you are on the road a lot which means you will probably be having a service monthly) or you are running auto adjusters. In our hobby though we have neither luxury. I am not a mechanic but essentially all...
Yep, that's the way it works, if your slack adjusters are properly adjusted, you're good. And your implication is correct, it is a lot harder to control an empty trailer in a panic stop than a loaded one. A loaded one will take longer but will almost always track better. Good question too.
Hawkdawg, here is a simple test to see if your glowplugs are coming on. Take one of the glow plug wires off, attach it to one end of a test light, ground the other end of the test light and turn on your key. The light should come on for the period of time the glow plug controller energizes the...
