You are right doghead it doesn't but it looks just like the one I have on my truck.- BUT, I haven't spent any time under there to make sure that's what it is either!
A person doesn't play with a big truck very long before you get familiar with an air dryer. That by the way is where that air pop off sound comes from when your air gets built up. As Suprman said try some wd40 and I would take off the inlet and spray some in there then start the truck right away...
How long does it have to crank before it starts? If it runs both batteries down and has to be jumped before it starts and the batteries are fully charged and good, that should be a lot of cranking. Are you getting an acrid smell as it cranks? Any white smoke while it cranks? Turning over at a...
Most probably the starter broke because of the lack of the rear brace. I learned that the hard way on a 6.5, only mine also sheared the bolt in the bell housing. I would not put it back together without said brace. BTW, they aren't hard to make if you have a piece of angle iron.
Welcome to the website Kora. You asked some big questions, most or all of which have been addressed before. I would suggest you do a search and you will find a number of opinions and positions on each topic. You will get a much wider variety of information that way. For my two cents, I bought a...
Greetings Sergeant Major, you can get your ether at NAPA, they run $40 a bottle in the KC area. I did put a block heater in my 925 last year and it made a huge difference. My truck doesn't like to start below 50. If it is really cold, I plug the truck in about 6 hrs before I use it. I left it...
Thanks for the correction, I thought it looked bad too. It does not appear to be working. I will try to clean it up this weekend, if the weather cooperates. Do you know, if that valve should pull out or go in? As I recall, when I move the control lever to engage, it pushes the cable which should...
The winch on my 925 is not functioning. I have read the tm's searched the threads and found lot's of great information. When I took the plate off of the tower in the cab, I found the cable that engages the PTO unhooked. I suspect it was unhooked because of a different problem because when I...
Okay I found it but I don't know how to attach it, here is the thread, "A Day with a Hero - MSgt Oresko's Last Deuce Ride" That member did important work and it took a historic military vehicle to do so.
Someone with better searching skills than I have can probably find it, I couldn't, but don't forget the thread where one of our members used their deuce to carry the casket in a funeral for a WWII vet.
I had my 925 pushing snow with the front bumper last winter and didn't have any problems. It was a light snow, the kind that blows and drifts but there were places you couldn't see the tops of the fence posts and it didn't have a problem. In fact, when I drove out to the highway, I found the...
I don't want to hijack this thread but I have a question. Can you hear it when the pto is engaged? I have a 925 and the cable to the engaging lever was disconnected. I connected it and tried to use the winch but got nothing. I followed the Tm but I don't think the clutch is in the correct...
If it is an acrid smell that kind of burns your nostrils, maybe it is exhaust escaping from a cold exhaust manifold. I have a 6.5 that does that and it will just about make your eyes water. It stops very quickly. Just a thought.
If your times have gone flat several times, I would be cautious about running those tires at speed. I am not an authority on tires by any means but I think there are several threads about that you might want to check. Just be careful, it isn't fun when a steer time comes apart on you in traffic...
I can not tell if the motor turned over well when you turned the key or if you had to add a jumper battery to get enough juice. If you did have to add a battery, and your system is generating then I would start by checking all your battery connections first.
Sorry to hear about your lack of participation Lindsaym151 but I am not surprised. We run into the same thing at church all the time. People are so busy now it is hard to get a group together for anything it seems. I don't know if it matters to you but there are a lot of us who live too far away...
