Now it's mostly seen like this,
or fortifying the walls of a city in the wastelands
I guess it took two posts :)
Details are in the build thread, if you want them.
She Beast
Ok, no campaigning for me, just this one post to show some features.
It started out like this
And she was pretty happy to get it,
Then I worked my artistry on it, inside
And added some mod's to the outside
Thanks,
as far as weight, the trailer is data plated at just over 2 ton, The shelter is plated as 2 ton w/ all of the equipment installed. I'm guessing maybe 1 ton empty.
You're pretty good at asking me about things in the corners of my pics, guess I'll have to pay more attention to my cropping...
So first thing for me was to make a deck so that I didn't kill myself climbing up and down on the trailer.
Had a bunch of wood that I'd resourced, so I made a short porch. :) After the basics are done I'll come back and make it so that it will slide out that extra 5' when I extend the...
The Draggin's pretty happy w/ that much weight in the back, . . . it's me. I get out running these dirt roads and tracks around here, then all of a sudden I'm like "chit my stuff is in the back!!!" Usually right after I hop it over some rut or ridge!
Now that we're back to it just having the...
Thanks, . . . now quit smiling at me like that ;)
For me this is the frustrating part. I'm not a metal worker, I just see how I want it to be and then spend a bunch of time annoying my friends while they work :)
It's finely going to happen, I'm getting the shelter off the back of the Draggin'!!!
Been planning this for awhile and I think it'll be easy and smooth.
I roll over to a buddie's shop. He's been doing all the work on the trailer and today we'll see if all our measuring, and planning, and...
Nice! What would you hook to on the front? Seems like the shackles are to close in.
Like if you're locking out the dolly truck pivot That would make it almost like having a tractor :)
I'm w/ you on that! I did look at how the rear had been double plated and will be adding to the front. Right now that one's going to come back off and go back where it belongs ;)
I start w/ a 90deg out onto main dirt
As soon as I'm out and taking up most of the road a car comes. I back it up untill I'm lined up straight and let the car pass aua
Now back into the compound, through the trailer gauntlet
By now I was getting the feel of it. It was a...
Later that afternoon (when it was no longer in the triple digits) I went to pushing.
First was lining up the dolly, . . . no prob.
Then came the plan,
I only had to do two 90deg turns, run it between rows of trailers on either side, and then turn it sharp to my blind side :)
The latest 146 coming into our compound ended up sitting on the side of the road. True, it was the dirt road in front of the compound, and true, it never gets used by anyone but us (it ends do to disuse just past compound) but it still was a drag. I pulled the trailer here in early Jan. The prob...
Got some wheels and tires. Finely it's on both axles. (this was before the building move)
Also primed the new metal.
Then it was time to move all my camping gear out of it so that we could do the transfer w/ it empty.
Being that this one is basically just one of the “pods” that make up our compound, and not planned for the road (though I will keep it on wheels and ready just in case) I'm not going to do a full camper/live-in build.
For this one there will be no bathroom, we have those facilities available on...
