    Got My Personalized Plates!

I grew up in MA. How are the yearly inspections for you? Lights, glass, safety, but no sniffer?

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Got the hood done. My wife works for DA, and at her building they just happened to have a bunch of expired cans of 686 matched touch up in the trash pile. I saved them. Next big project is the cooling stack and inner fenders. It's really the only place on the truck I haven't been except...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Finally fully floored. If anyone remembers the Fast and Furious heydays of the early 2000s, I was guilty of building plenty of fiberglass car parts. Since then, I've built plenty of actual racecar parts, so fiberglass is easy. This is even easier since it doesn't have to be perfect, just...

'86 M998 Humvee issue with headlights and turnsignals

24v adjustable rate LED flasher and whatever Amphenol connector it is (I wrote it down somewhere). I put it all in a cheap waterproof project box roughly the same size as the Nartron flasher (and that fit under the dash where it should). I think I've got about $30-40 into it. If it fails, I just...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

It was actually over the last few days, but I got the driver floor insulation, heater core, blower, etc, CO side floor insulation in, along with finishing up the HVAC duct/diverter. The only thing left there is the railcar tiedown decal. What a mess that's been trying to find....... I also got...

    Rear seat base installation

I think those are designed for their (Predator) own bases, not the mil ones. Do they have the clips on the underside that slide under the rear of the base? If so, you can probably make them work if you want to source the tabs that rivet to the front of them for the draw latches.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Today I brought the hood I picked up on GP into the shop. The one on the truck was cracked in about 6 or 8 places and looked like it had been a hasty field replacement. No signal bucket closeout panels, footman loops, ziptied wiring harness, etc. Plus, the glue was green and the underside was...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Been lurking.... Today? When I picked up my 1097, it had been stripped of all the interior insulation. Literally, whoever turned it in had been told to "Take everything out of that vehicle", so they did, down to the bent metal tubes and screws. All they left was the chunk under the heater core...

Which states are not HMMWV friendly?

Kansas is good to go. The state won't take an SF-97 (since July 2023), only a full title. It needs to be registered as a "Special Interest" vehicle (per H.B. 2014/S.B. 18 in 2021). If you don't already have the KS collector's license, it's a one time $20 fee. It needs to be that way because...
