What is the Correct Part number for Cab Mount air bags?

Does KA-5066 include a shock absorber, or is it just the air spring?

What is the Correct Part number for Cab Mount air bags?

Update: Received P/N PP997900 from Ohio Hydraulic. It's a Goodyear air bag, but it does not come with the shock. So, it's not a complete kit, just the air bag. Powerpacker does not sell the shocks separate, only sells them as a part of a complete unit. If air bag is what's bad in yours, this...

Will an electronic tachometer from M35A3 with 3116 work on an FMTV with 3116?

Excellent suggestion. If I am buying some brand new items, might as well look for the 24 volt.

Will an electronic tachometer from M35A3 with 3116 work on an FMTV with 3116?

Thanks for posting that video, it's very educative and useful. I really appreciate the knowledge sharing. I will need 12 volt switched anyway, for various pieces of equipment, like back-up camera, Audio system, GPS, phone charger and so on.

Will an electronic tachometer from M35A3 with 3116 work on an FMTV with 3116?

The FMTV gages are weird. The lighting on them is 12 volt, but the gage itself is 24. Not sure if the M35a3 is the same or not.

Will an electronic tachometer from M35A3 with 3116 work on an FMTV with 3116?

Nor sure why they called it "cable" it seems to be some kind of a sending unit, probably Hall effect or VR sensor. I believe it's this sensor, but I don't own an M35A3: https://www.easternsurplus.net/PartDetails/2934/MA3-Tachometer-Cable

Will an electronic tachometer from M35A3 with 3116 work on an FMTV with 3116?

My truck is an M1083A0, with 3116. I would expect the tachometer from M35A3 to work, since both trucks have the same engine (Cat 3116), just at a different power setting. I am wondering if anybody here was able to make it work?

What is the CAT part number for 3116 fuel primer?

My M1083A0 came without a fuel primer, ad did many of the 3116 trucks. Does anybody know the part number for fuel primer? IIRC it's a fuel filter housing with primer built into it.

What is the Correct Part number for Cab Mount air bags?

Thanks for the advice. I am aware of this option, however I was told that if I were to ever try larger tires, they are going to rub against it. While I have no immediate plans to install larger tires, I would like to keep that option available.

What is the Correct Part number for Cab Mount air bags?

Based on my research on the internet, I found a few different part numbers that allegedly fit: Power Packer: PP997900 - That's what Eastern surplus has on their web site in addition to the FM-345 which is their part number The one below is supposedly for a different truck, but fits the FMTV...

How many have had their driveshafts balanced?

I had mine balanced. Judging by the weights that had to be added to them, they were badly unbalanced. May have something to do with transmission quitting on me.

    contemplating LMTV or FMTV purchase

The more I think about the LMTV, the more I like the idea. If you can get one for 10 grand all in, it's a bargain. You can't get a heavy duty diesel pickup in good condition for this much, and LMTV is more capable. Yet, it's sufficiently civilized not to be a nuisance. The only thing I need to...

    contemplating LMTV or FMTV purchase

Is it possible to get one with functional CTIS and no air brake problems around 9 grand? I can live without CTIS, provided the tires stay inflated and there are no air leaks that interfere with brakes. Do these trucks come with motor oil in transmission? Are there rubber parts that need to be...

    contemplating LMTV or FMTV purchase

How much do the nice A0 and A1 fetch at an auction these days? How much time and money (in parts) does it take to get one 100% functional, assuming no cosmetics is done?

    contemplating LMTV or FMTV purchase

So the family might like the lmtv better, due to it being more comfortable. I grew up on the other side of the pond, where cabover trucks are more popular. It's certainly easier for me to drive a cabover in traffic, but that's a personal preference that many will disagree with. As for looks, I...

    contemplating LMTV or FMTV purchase

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to poop on these trucks. On the contrary, I kind'a like them, from a distance so far. Just trying to assess what I am getting myself into. I am hopefully being realistic with my assumptions that no military surplus vehicle that sat for 20 years is going to be...

    contemplating LMTV or FMTV purchase

My family grew, I have 2 kids (ages 5 and 2) and the truck is for camping "expeditions". Not like a real expedition camper, something more local and less expensive. I currently own a well sorted m923a2 with 3 air ride seats in the cab. I don't feel like butchering the cab to get 2 more seats for...

Curious how much to LMTV's go for

I saw a bunch of them on auction sites. There are a few on fleebay as well, anywhere between 13K and 40K. What's a decent truck worth, one that does not need major work?

I need instructions for retrofitting ABS to M923a2

PM me your email, I will send you the installation manual in PDF. It's big.

New Hampshire registration and license questions, M923a2 built in 1990

It looks like based on age I should be able to register M923A2 as an "Antique" in New Hampshire (it's 23 years old and the cutoff is 20 in NH). I was told that in Mass you don't need a CDL to drive an Antique, even if it otherwise requires a CDL due to gross weight, air brakes, 3 axles and etc...
