Hi all.
I want to swap a nicer tailgate from a junker HMMWV to my running M1114. Both trucks have similar tailgates with hinges bolted to the frame. Two of the bolts and nuts on each side are easy to access. The third's nut is covered by body a bushing and blocked by angled metal. Feeling...
Not sure on the brakes, but it sounds like you have air in the power steering lines. Especially if the quick disconnect was off. I had the same problem with my truck and followed this TM to purge the lines:

Sounds like a couple phone calls to local mechanics are in order. These trucks are dead simple to work on. (At least compared to modern cars)
x2 on supplying TM's when dropping off the truck.
I wrote a letter a couple weeks ago to my state senator about this title B.S. here in Florida and to my amazement, I got a response saying he'd look into it.
I literally took some rope, looped it over the tensioner pulley and used my weight to pull it down while under the truck. Then slipped the belt around the pulley.
I saw a couple trucks on a certain website listed as N1097. It's also stated on the data plate. Are they from the Navy? I can't seem to find anything online about an N designation...
Not particularly. Just make sure it's origianal and not a Chinese knockoff. Many people here swear by the vendors on this forum. I bought mine off ebay to save $10 because I'm cheap.
Also don't start your truck until it's installed and you've checked all the fluids.
Check the Items Won page on GovPlanet. If it says Call Titles Department, they may need to clear up something before issuing the SF97.
My truck didn't list a year in the sale and they needed me to complete an additional form before the SF97 was processed.
Does anyone know where the engine ground is on turbo 6.5's? I'm at work and have been pouring over the TM's with no luck. When I remove the doghouse, all I see is turbo stuff.
Not sure if your truck is similar to mine or not but you can really hear when the radiator fan kicks on. It's like the truck has a second engine. lol
Do you know if the fan is turning on when the engine gets hot?
I kept a piece of plywood under the passenger seat that was just big enough to block air intake behind the mushroom cap. If my engine ever would have run away, pretty sure I would have had that crazy "mama's baby trapped under a car" strength and ripped the mushroom cap off, then used the...
I thought M35A2's were being phased out 13-14 years ago. I bought one back then for dirt cheap. They still pop up in auctions to this day so I guess not?
