The main switch is in the cab, it turns on the pump, there is also a switch on the back of the truck on the left side on the side of a metal box. I have never needed the remote to operate the crane.

Thank you very much for the write up and the info on this subject. My HH was leaking from a crack. I followed the steps in this post and was able to put a new one in. Although I had to do it twice because the clip and button came off when I installed it the first time! Second time was the charm...
In Illinois we have a Former Military Vehicle plate which can save you money over any other plate, Since the LMTVs are too heavy and too new for an antique plate. However you do need a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) do to the weight and the air brakes.
I have a leaky latch as well, but it is coming from around the indicator pin. There is a small seal in the cover, has anyone found the number for this seal? The TM only shows the entire latch, not a breakdown of the individual parts.
Watched the video and got the locks out no problem, but my locks are a Mercedes key M63e. And both doors are differently keyed. I guess they used whatever locks they could get their hands on. Now I have to try to find blanks.

Has anyone found out the key blank to use for the FMTV? I was going to take the locks out to try to have a key made. Do you think they are a common key like the CUCV?
Thanks, John
