I did have the same issues prior to adding the key switch so if theESS is bad it was bad for another reason in this case. Curios to know your thoughts on why a keyed switch would be my different. If appropriately rated, what difference could it make?

I ended up using the rubber hold down from the kit shown below and made J bolds for passenger side hold down. Didn’t have to use the adapter or wood. Used rubber spacer instead. Thanks for all the responses.

Looking for a new parking brake (handle). I am seeing a bunch for sale for the M998 but they have the button release. Mine does not have that. Are these compatible for replacement? If not, anyone know where I can find a parking brake for my truck? (Without button)
