now don't you wish you had a multifuel? i haven't put diesel in mine in the 4 years that i have owned it...
all my buddies give me their WMO and i just filter it.
I have the same goals. I chose to go with an M52a2 because of the multifuel, change out the tendems for a single rear, cut down a bed off an M54 to about 10'6"... then the intent is to get a popup that will fit within the bed sides sideways, so that the ends will open over the bedsides. thatway...
wind kanked the jump..
my truck is outside in the driveway... i just go out there and get after it.. it has been getting into to 50s during the day, just a light jacket is all ya need when ur working hard.
more stripping, sanding, and painting primer... and i put on locking door handles..
I'd of done more, but i have to hurl myself out of a helicopter early tomorrow morning.
picked up the white oak for the spacer/blocking between frame and bed.. cut them to length.. mapped out all the bolts and rivets. drilled 1 1/8 holes.. perfect fit.
got the shortened bed mounted.. looks like stock.
i did leave an 8 inch gap between the bed and cab. i intend on rerouting the...
fired the old girl up last week after she sat for 6 months... i was deployed. figured id see how she does at 5 degrees..... took a bit of cranking, but she fired up. not bad for a 50 yr old M52a2 running on pure WMO.
But are they all 5tons??
I believe i said m900 series 5TONS.
As i am aware other classes of truck carried a 900 number(i.e., HMMWVs). I was only refering to the 5tons.
A little attention to detail goes a long way.
Physically.. no.. i can't help. Im active duty. Have been since 93. Im actually deployed right now. I deploy alot, i have my hands full. But when I'm home i enjoy working on my old truck. I have been modifying and upgrading what i can. Its kinda like my decompression from 6 months gone 5 months...
My point exactly. So you know the headache involved with trying to decipher what vehicle is being discussed even after doing a search.
My vote would be to just open a new forum and let it fill itself. Maybe in the future when some has the time or a program that can sort it all out it can be...
I agree that the 5ton forum should be split up. With the influx of m900 series 5tons it is making it more and more difficult to figure out what series of truck is being discussed.
I personally own a 65 kaiser m52a2. It seems that it used to be much easier to find the information i was seeking...
Converting your 5ton from 6x6 to 4x4 has been done many many times. Search for bobbed 5ton. Its the same as the process used when bobbing, but you are just not planning on shortening the frame.
This post is probably better in the 5ton modified section, Not here.
When i won my m925 awhile back i had to caged the brakes then had a buddy tow it from the auction yard to the autocraft shop on post. There it sat until i went through it and worked out its bugs. I had to replace the batteries, replace some fuel line, cap a broken glad hand, and verify all the...
