What does the nameplate say about weights on the 5 ton? I have my Deuce registered as a 'Pick-up' here in Texas with a 18,000# Max gvw (13,000 + 2 1/2 tons). Wondering if I could do the same with a 5 Ton and avoid the whole need a CDL thingy. Texas says a driver needs a CDL if the Max GVWR is...
I called GL last friday about the SF97s I had requested 2/3/08. They acknowledged the forms were signed into the system on 2/4/08. I was was told to expect to wait another 30 to 60 days. They said they are averaging 120 days to issue them now. aua
Actually, the front oil pan sump is bent inwards also. Looks like someone drove it up onto a guard rail or something and when they pulled it off the bumper hooked on whatever it was and got bent up and out. Somebody was in trouble with their officer that day I bet!
I did so well :D with my post about soft top frame parts, I thought I would give my winch mounting needs a try... went back by the Museum where they are stored and took a closer look.... really need winch brackets, frame extensions, a front bumper and the radiator / front engine mount assy...
I am sure it is posted somewhere, but while we are on the topic (kind of), what is the correct split shift sequence? From 4 to 5 hi range with a naturally aspirated engine is almost painful....
