Just throwing it out there.
Everything glow plug related checks out exactly as it should. Correct voltages everywhere, correct cycling. Everything fuel related checks out as it should. Correct pressures at the correct locations, filter is in good working order, no leaks anywhere. Going to run...
I didn't pull the 8th because the person that was helping had to run, and I wanted to be connected to it from the moment the key was turned until the wait light went out.
I did have one that I tested out it was the drivers side closest to the firewall and I did apply 12v to it and it heated up properly. What I find weird is that I have been daily driving it in the morning to work and evening home and haven't had any issues or even noticed that it was acting funny...
So I went out and did some serious electrical check outs.
Both batteries isolated are 12v each
The rear battery is 24v
The junction on the firewall is reading 24v
The connection on top of the relay is reading 25.4v (when turned on it drops to 10.3v)
The connection on the bottom reads 0v when...
I got my m1009 back in November last year. Had to do a little work to get it to shift and run properly.
I had to pull 6 or so swollen glow plugs, decided I didn't want to have to do that again so I read a bunch of good info about the AC60gs. Bought them, put them in, also found out I had to...
One of my neighbors jokes with me about it, the rest of my neighbors except 1 don't like or dislike it. The one that hates it called the HOA as soon as it showed up and started taking pictures of it and complaining about it. Because of the paint job he said we were painting it in the driveway...
Cross thread
If you ever have to cross thread a ditch or something of that sort you will want/need a locker. Without one in the rear the moment one of your wheels loses contact if you have no momentum you will pretty much be stuck. The reason I mention cross threading is because usually one...
Thanks
Thanks to all for the good pointers and things to consider. Some I had thought of and some I hadn't. I will definetly let you guys know if I go through with it and how it turns out.
I contacted the guy, supposedly it will be about 20 mph on a gravel road. When a road block is seen they will then proceed off into a field. Continuing at about 15 mph. Kind of a when the world ends scenario, I told the guy that it couldn't leave my sight the whole time. He assured me it...
So this morning I went out to my truck to go to work and there was a note under the windshield wiper. Somebody left there name, number and some info about wanting my M1009 in a movie. I called the number and got some info, he is the writer and is going to get with the producer about using it...
Towing almost anyting with four wheels where the front two can steer or rotate at all will almost always jump around unless you have some way to lock the front steering. But if you lock the front two wheels it will be very interesting to go around corners.
So I had replaced the batteries and the glow plugs. It was a fairly warm day when I did the work so I put the batteries back in and it fired right up. I didn't think anything of it went out the next morning to drive it to work and the wait light was on for a long time and all it would do is turn...
Nice Front Royal, I will have to come out that way some time it would be a nice drive for the cucv.
Where in Gainsville? I'm fairly familiar with the area and your not to far away.
Well acutally, we should all meet up somewhere, I just have a couple of fixes. Taking a little bit of time to...
