Figured I would get on here and update this thread since I finally got around to upgradeing my 6" round off road lights to HID's. How did it work out you ask....Absolutely GREAT!!!!! I used the VVME 55w H3 HID kit with 4300K bulbs and the difference is like comparing a candle on a coffee table...
Did you mean emissions OR inspection??? I really really really really HATE VA's yearly vehicle inspection:evil: Oh yeah and in VA you have to take your vehicle through it forever but the emissions goes away after 25 years though.
I've seen videos of these trucks straight piped on youtube before. Thats a pretty raw sound they make with no mufflers. Im useing a set of dynomax mufflers on mine. They are straight through mufflers and pretty loud but if I had to do it over again I would probly use 12" bullet style glasspacks...
Hello. Im planning to convert a bunch of 6" round offroad lights that take H3 bulbs to 55w HID xenon's and was wondering if anyone elese on here has done this before? If so did you start out with an offroad light that had more of a spot beam or more of a broad beam and what did you end up with...
Also the susquehanna Motorsports lights are the E-code Hellas I was wondering about being street legal no matter what bulbs were in them in the first post up there.
I've read about the silvania silverstars on here before and they seem to be the best bang for the buck but I'm willing to kinda splurge on this one a little bit. Im looking for the absolute brightest kit on the market that is street legal even if it is a little pricie.
That is not normal. I'd have the batteries tested to start with and if that's not the problem then get familiar with the TM's. Im sure other people will chime in with possible reasons why your batteries are dieing. Also how did you jump your M1009 with a 12v jeep???
I was going to use a zero start heater a while back. This thread explains why that unit is not a good choice for a cucv. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/44796-cucv-zerostart-coolant-heater-help.html It seems the freeze plug type is the only way to go.
Im getting ready to upgrade the headlights on my cucv and need advice. Im considering getting the LMC Truck 36-0282 lights with 60/55W H4 bulbs and the relay kit. What I would like to know is if the Hella E code rectangular lights with 60/55W H4 bulbs and Hellas wireing kit are any better and...
I got my M101A2 for $315.00 from Havre De Grace MD. a couple months back. You guys might consider bidding on one from there also. It was a longer drive from where im at but might not be that bad for some of you if you are after a trailer from MD.
I mounted my tag on the frame rail just under the tailgate on my M101A2. I also mounted a tag light down there as well. I don't know about other states but the tag light is a must out here in VA. As you can see by the pic I had to mount the tag light to another piece of metal that drops it down...
I notice that most of the A3's with the wide axle and great big tires usually cost a pretty penny. I just went with an A2 because im towing it with cucv with 34" tires and no lift.
Interco supper swamper tires are superior to pretty much everything else for mud. you can get the TSL swampers in bias or radial in a 31x10" size. For maximum traction in mud the swamper boggers are the best. They are not available in 31x10" though only 31x12" which might be to wide for your...
I just ran outside and flipped my tail lights. It took maby 5 minutes or so. I didn't have to unplug anything just unbolted the lights, turned them upside down, and bolted them back on. I noticed that it made the wires sit about level with the hole in the frame that they go through which is...
Thanks for adding the pic. The lights actually look really good that way. Im surprised everybody hasn't done that. I know what im gonna be doing as soon as I can get a break in the rain again out here.
I can tell you one thing. The trailer in that pic is an M101A2 because it is mine. I thought I recognised my own driveway. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/trailers/73320-my-new-m101a2.html This is where that pic came from.
Finally finished wireing a flat four pig tail into the original 12 pin plug that came with my M1028. I now have my truck set up to tow my military trailer along with my fathers Haul mark civi trailer. I also wired a tag light into the wireing harness on the mil trailer. I've looked at ALOT of...
