I used jeep LED tail lights, a rotator beacon, and I painted a safety yellow and black candy cain on the back of my cucv to make it more visable. If I get stuck driving on a road with a speed limit higher than 55 mph I always use that rotator light.
Im not familiar with POR 15 hardnose but I do know that regular POR 15 is UV sensitive and may not be great for a truck body. Unless you top coat it with something elese or keep your truck in a garage.
Lol that 7-11 at VA-234 and RT-15 is pretty much the only thing out this way. If you are heading out to Bull Run Mountain that 7-11 is about the only land mark out here. I live about 1.6 miles away from that 7-11 on the mountain side. I made it out to Havre De Grace in just under 3 hours. I...
Im not sure yet. I would love to take the bed off and blast every inch of the bed and frame and then seal the whole thing with rustbullet paint. Rustbullet is very similar to POR15 and it is ok to expose it to direct sunlight un like the POR15. I've used rustbullet on other things and it is...
I just submitted the sf-97 today through gov lquidation's site. They said it may take up to a month to get a title out to me. I just put in the vin# that was on the trailer. Hopefully I wont get more hassle from the dmv out here. In the mean time im gonna start cleaning it up some and re paint...
I just got home with my new trailer a couple hours ago. I won the Gov Liquidation auction for it for $315.00 and picked it up from Havre De Grace MD. No EUC was required. Now I just have to get it tagged here in VA. Does anyone know which number is the VIN on these things?
Another way to use a 2wd trans in your truck would be to hook it to a dodge divorced np205. Then you won't have to pay a shop to dissassemble your 700r4 and you will get a crazy strong t-case as well. Look on ebay. there is usually one or two divorced np205's up for sale on there cheaper than...
I've thought about doing the 6.5L turbo as well so that I can tow heavier loads and not bog down as much going up hills. How much did the turbo and all the turbo related parts end up costing you?
I like the tall skinny Michelins. Looks like your gonna need a little bit of lift or some pretty radical fender trimming in order to put the bed and fenders back on though. I would love to run a set of those some day. Those look to be at least 38 or so inches tall. How much lift do you think it...
A 700R4 should be ok just to commute with since over the years they put it into trucks with slightly higher output motors. If you want to tow with it or haul heavy loads I wouldn't recomend a stock 700R4 and im sceptical about useing the beefed up ones as well for that. I thought about...
A 14bolt ff out of a 3/4 ton truck will have the spring pearches at the correct width and not require them to be cut off and new ones welded on. The only issue would be the rear drive shaft. If you can live without 4WD for a while then it shouldn't hurt to do them one at a time.
I had a nightmare ordering springs from JC Whitney. I tried to order a set of 2" lift 56" long springs that they had listed. They sent me something else. After calling JC Whitney and realizing that they don't have a clue about anything I finally called Tuff Country about it and they told me that...
That would help things greatly lol. Have you put those numbers into a gear ratio calculator yet to see about what the top sustainable crusing speed would be? Adding an overdrive trans probly wouldn't hurt either.
A cummins will die behind a 3spd th400 with 4.56 gears. It will need way higher gears or massive tires to get it to run in the rpm range that it likes to run in. Im dieing to put a cummins in my truck as well and have looked into it a good bit. From what i've come up with it cant be done for any...
How in the world are you guys getting your 6.2L's to run anywhere near as strong or stronger than a big block???? It's only supposed to put out as much hp and torque as a straight six or a 305ci.
If you have a 454 sitting around that runs good and you can afford the gas that it will gobble with the 4.56 gears then I couldn't immagine putting a boat load of money into fixing the worn out 6.2L since the 6.2 can never be made to run as good as the 454. Also the 454 will make your truck able...
It just looks like a bunch of squares on my computer as well. I see squares like that posted on facebook once in a while but I never got around to asking my friends what the heck was up with the posts of all the squares. Since im not the only one here that is just seeing squares i'll go ahead...
Thats a sweet lookin war wagon you got there!!! I used alot of expanded metal during my flat bed build on my M1028. I used it to cover the back window, make a beacon cage for my amber rotator, and for a couple light guards. I bought way more of that stuff than I needed just because it is so...
