Re: RE: 5 ton
Yes, That is correct. If you turned the screw you are by passing the electric and need to use the Engine Stop cable to cut off the fuel. I do believe that it's just the opposite if you have no power. By turning the screw the engine should keep running after the slave cable is...
Re: looks very familiar!!!
Hi Andy,
Yes they have come up with a better idea with the 6wd.
On the M939 series five tons. There is an air switch on the dash to go in and out of 6wd on demand and on the fly while in High Range.
There is also another air valve tied into the low range shift...
I would say yes......!!!
Read and do as much research as you can.......Get some advice along the way.
Take your time.......don't be in a rush to finish.
If you don't have the necessary tools and they're not that costly then get them. You can't go wrong with buying too many tools.
If you mess...

Re: RE: Door Hinge Pin Removal
Be careful when pounding on the hinges while they're still bolted to the doors. Even though the pillar where the hinges mount to the door is re-enforced doesn't mean it won't twist out of shape with out you even knowing it until you go to hang the door on the...
As long as the hinges are removed from the doors and cab........I soked mine with some WD-40 and mounted them in a good heavy vise and used the old stand by hammer and punch.......I then used a wire pipe cleaner, cut off the end and chucked it in my drill and cleaned out all the rust from the...

I heard not to long ago that they closed up shop because of the IRS. I've gone by the old body shop and tow building and can't believe my eyes. Roadmasters is gone out of business. They had a huge body shop and a very well known towing business. I would have to say they were one of the top...
Here is a thread I started back in the summer when I had to change some O rings and tires. Just keep inmind that these rims are for a M939 series five ton and may differ from your 20 bolt rims.
I'm sure you'll find some interesting reading though. As this was my first time changing tires with...
Hey Guys,
I'm very much interested in joining with the ECC this year. Art of the MTA has been filling me in with most of the details. I've looked over the web site and have found this so far.
I will be joining up with the convoy in NJ at the Vince Lombari Service Area on the NJ TPK. I plan on...
