    waste oil stove

Go to jail, been waiting for that. Waste oil burner is strictly for waste. They do not self adjust, flash points are different to say the least. If you want to put it in a boiler that is another set of issues. Can not run the same cycle as #2 burner, will have a soot problem along with...

    Faulty Fuel Solenoid??

Huh, Well, I went throught 4 mechanical lift pumps then gave up and went electric. Can't beat electric pumps for cold starts. 6-8 PSI will keep them happy. I run a Garber spin on from the local plumbing supply Co. and can now install gauges. Piece-o-cake to prime. Put 85K on the truck with...

    Considering LMTV

Styer, hmm.. that make sense. They made the Pizgauer if I remember correctly. Reminds me of the Volvo T-Ride (Not the C-303), pinzy was similar. Think they ran Meritors as well. Haven't considered a LMTV seriously till the past year. Free time is a commodity. Slippery slope because you see...

    Considering LMTV

S&S is an equipment manufacturer.? Nothing for the civilian market, these were the only trucks they made. Wonder who got the contract to stamp out the cabs? C.O.E. are popular overseas but i wonder who got the contract to stamp them out. Thinking Ford CF cabover or Tatra? Got to be something...

    Considering LMTV

It is a slippery slope when looking at a M1078 and the 6x6 can be had for about the same investment.

    Considering LMTV

Do shoes, springs, brake cans, seals cross to civilian? The HEUI voltage is concerning. 24v could make it a unicorn at the Cat dealer.

    Considering LMTV

Got a M1031 for my service truck for the past 5 yrs ,loyal to say the least. Before that was a Doka Unimog so time to try a LMTV? Is there a reliable parts source? I.E. shoes, cans, Is the HEUI system 12v or 24v? Like to hear what you got to say.

    Pinz with SECM Body??

Thanks for the pics. Didn't think it would be a "walk-through" design. Think I might lean towards a Stewart Stevenson 6X6 if they a SECM body..?

    Megasquirt Injection

The engine is what it is, efficiency is no concern. Yes, the injector bungs being a real character builder. Was thinking the way of Megasquirt fuel only E.C.U. and T.B.I. off something like 4.3 v6 Chevy. M.A.P, T.P.S and I.A.C are incorporated in the Throttle body along with the injectors...

    Stalling

Lift Pump. If you can get a Vacuum / pressure gauge between the filter and I.P. that would help. I.P's like to be supplied with fuel 5-9 p.s.i keeps them happy. To much pressure will advance the timing. F.Y.I Had 2 mechanical pumps fail, Switched to electric and got 6 months out of that one...
