If I say anything else no one knows what I'm talking about. I call the air to air charge the aftercooler but some people call that the intercooler. OK The bearing oil seal on the inside of the turbo. Subject up for debate, seen them labeled both ways in manuals...
Coolant 100% Need the liquid around the block to make a difference. Had a small Zero-Start on the Mog that was a tankless model plumbed into the 3/4 heater hoses. Piece-o-cake. The freeze plugs can be a charater builder and risk boogering up the block and now the o-ring won't seat well and then...
Got an Offenhauser intake that would take 2 Ball & Ball carbs or same bolt pattern. However, the little 230 runs so good the way it is. Did do the 4.89's 15 yrs ago and disc brakes, power steering, well I say assist... Took the fear lauching it down the sidewalk away.
Usually white smoke=sucking air. Put a pressure/vacuum gage just after the filter see whats going on with the lift pump. Got a new Mechanical on my truck and it lasted 3 weeks would have never noticed if it wasn't for the gauges and one cranky IP. Went with Elec. piece-o-cake.
Ebay, there is a vendor called dan's gears might be your best bet.Tried all the bone yards within reason ,when scrap went high all got junked. Even had GV call the guys they know in CA and they were surprised at how much it has dried up.
Just got done installing 3.73's in the M1031 also got GV O.D. that drops it to 2.94-ish for the highway. Goes good pulls just fine. Could of got away with 3.55's .. Depends what your using the truck for of course..
New starter, Relay (doghead),wires, Solenoid, Batt Cables and Batts. Spins great, starts like a 6.2
Has got to be the trigger wire for the solenoid.
New wire for the Relay to Solenoid keep the red wire on disconnect the brown at solenoid of course.
Not sure what else the red wire trips upon...
Same scenario on my m1031. I don't have much confidence in the Airtex either so,running a set of gauges at the filter assy (running 7-12psi after the filter) to keep an eye on it. Got a small Fass lift pump on the Dodge since '99 (Can't remember the model #) but it is 22psi after the filter it...
Got the GV's for my 1031. needed to swap out the 205 output shaft to a fixed. Nonexistant!! Those are like gold now. Alot like the coolant crossover on the 6.2
Upgraded ring and pinions in the 416 Mog, twice as much but a different story.
Had my conversion for 10+yrs No I can have a sip of coffee while steering with one finger..
However, you know it will go right from the steering to disc brakes, gears, alternator.. No matter all well worth it!!
Thanks for the advice, slowly getting there. Alot of nice original dry gaskets and or lack of. But that wire is bugging me..
Where I find something on the site that is of interest it gets printed. I got a couple of your postings as well.. Thank you
